Coronavirus Update for Puerto Rico
Gov. Wanda Vázquez Garced announced a curfew allowing Puerto Ricans to go out of their homes between the hours of 5 a.m. to 9 p.m. to buy essential items or to go to medical appointments, work or to assist children or the elderly.
Only businesses open are those selling essentials such as supermarkets, drugstores, banking centers, drive up/take-out restaurants and gas stations.
Puerto Ricans should be in their homes "24/7" to try to halt the spread of the virus.

Government Services:
PR Governor has closed all public schools for two (2) weeks due to the threat of the Covid-19 virus. ( PR Headline news 03142020) 855 schools (99.8%) have been inspected by engineers. Alternate
Education Superintendent reported 90% of all schools are now operational with the exception of San German and Sabana Grande in Mayaguez. San German and Sabana Grande schools

PR Actions: Municipality Police Support Teams 2,4,5 are supporting the Police of Puerto Rico in the affected areas of Guayanilla, Penuelas and Ponce, providing security in the affected areas.
Puerto Rico state police (Teams 1-3) are working in all Base Camps to provide escort and protection. Team Vigilancia and Grupo Vigilancia 3,4 are providing security to the survivors at all

Carretera 365 toward Barrio Machuchal in Sabana Grande was closed for repairs due to damage from seismic activity. Survivors’ commutes are rerouted for an additional ten minutes. (DSA Daily Summary Report 03122020)
Bridges: PR 359 highway bridge had to be demolished as a result of the earthquake of January 7, 2020. This bridge is the only access to the Cambalache community of the Jacanas
neighborhood in Yauco. A bypass across private land is being negotiated, but no agreement has been reached. On Wed, Mar 11th the Yuaco Municipality Mayor met with the Farm
Owner and Hwy Authority to discuss another option of access to the Cambalache sector. (Satellite South Daily Report 03112020)
