A Professor of Paediatric Surgery at the University of Ilorin, James Olaniyi Adeniran, has advocated the establishment of specialised hospitals in each geo-

political zone of the country to be completely dedicated to the proper surgical management of children's diseases in order to reduce child mortality.

Prof. Adeniran, who is also the National President of the Association of Paediatric Surgeons of Nigeria (APSON), made this submission last Thursday (March 15, 2018) while delivering the 179th Inaugural Lecture of the University, entitled, “Of Monstrosities in Children…”.(Contd. on page 4)

to the Governing Council and Management of the University of Ilorin to ensure that the institution sustains its standard and status as the most sought-after University in Nigeria.
