RE: Committee and Task Force Appointments

Attached you will find the committee and task force appointments made by NABP President Susan Ksiazek. NABP received an overwhelming response from members interested in volunteering for a committee or task force. President Ksiazek worked earnestly to involve as many people as possible, with a focus on appointing individuals who may be new to their state boards of pharmacy, new to NABP, or have not previously served on a committee or task force. The intent in this approach is to broaden participation in NABP and foster the involvement of new members in the Association. NABP also convenes standing and working committees that oversee the Association’s competency assessment programs and the PMP InterConnect, respectively. President Ksiazek appointed the 2018-2019 Executive Committee liaisons to the Advisory Committee on Examinations and the PMP InterConnect Steering Committee. For your reference, these committees are included in the attached list. Attachment cc: NABP Executive Committee

2018-2019 Committee and Task Force Appointments

NABP provides guidance on current topics of interest to the state boards of pharmacy through the use of single-issue task forces. When an issue arises that requires special expertise or a commitment of time and funds, a task force is appointed to address an explicit charge and to report its findings to the NABP Executive Committee. Task force and committee reports are published on the NABP website upon release.

Dear Ms. DuVall,

I am writing to follow up on our email exchange. This confirms that the Department of Health

(department) intends to open WAC 246-811-076, eligibility for certification through alternative

training, for public discussion to address your petition that pharmacists be added to the

professions eligible to take the alternative training course towards becoming a chemical

dependency professionals. This will include the department filing a Preproposal Statement of

Inquiry (commonly known as a CR-101 form) with the Office of the Code Reviser. A statement

of inquiry does not amend a rule by itself but allows the department to have formal discussions

with stakeholders to help determine any next steps.

The department will keep you informed as we continue through this process. If you have

questions, please contact Brad Burnham, Chemical Dependency Profession Program Manager, at

[email protected] or 360.236.4912.

Respectfully,
