INTRODUCTIONLathe machine is the most basic , as well as most versatile machine tool. It is the
backbone of any workshop or tool room. It uses in various cutting tools for different
operations.
TYPES OF LATHE1.SPEED LATHE:-Speed lathe are
simple lathes on which the tools are held against the work.
2.ENGINE LATHE:-Engine lathe is capable
of performing a wide variety of operations.
SPEED LATHE ENGINE LATHE
3.BENCH LATHE:-Bench lathe are used to perform a small precision work.
4. TOOL ROOM LATHE:-Tool room lathe are built with greater precision and
has a large range of speeds and feeds.
5.CAPSTAN LATHE-In these types of lathe the tail of centre lathe is replaced by a
hexagonal turret.
