THEORY
In 1937, Max horkheimer of the Frankfurt school of sociology
defined critical theory in his essayTraditional and critical theory.
It is a social theory oriented toward critiquing and changing society
as a whole, in contrast to traditional theory oriented only to
understanding or explaining it.

The theory should be aimed at acting at totality of society in its
historical perspective (i.e. how it came to be configured at a specificpoint in time).
That critical theory should act in a way to improve the
understanding of society by integrating all the major units of social
sciences, which includes bit of geography, economics, history, political
science etc.
