Yonge-Dundas square
Is a privately owned and administered public square in downtown Toronto, Canada………………
Commonly called Dundas square
![Page 4: Ppt English Jesse](https://reader034.vdocuments.us/reader034/viewer/2022052600/55836274d8b42a360c8b4832/html5/thumbnails/4.jpg)
It has the gray of the city during the day, because of the granite and the concrete.. And it has many plants too..
![Page 5: Ppt English Jesse](https://reader034.vdocuments.us/reader034/viewer/2022052600/55836274d8b42a360c8b4832/html5/thumbnails/5.jpg)
In the night, you see the square surrounded by animated advertising screens that make it colorful……………….
Many events take place in this amazing public space.

It has an interesting shape, it’s like a square with a triangle taken out of one side, because an important street bends at the square..
This part has a linear system of concrete pilars supporting a structure
![Page 7: Ppt English Jesse](https://reader034.vdocuments.us/reader034/viewer/2022052600/55836274d8b42a360c8b4832/html5/thumbnails/7.jpg)
There is an array of fountains which are the centrepiece of the square… These fountains formed the main walkway of the place.
You can play and pass trough them

As it is a public open space, it has many entrances, and natural lighting
![Page 9: Ppt English Jesse](https://reader034.vdocuments.us/reader034/viewer/2022052600/55836274d8b42a360c8b4832/html5/thumbnails/9.jpg)
The square has several levels, it has a space where concerts and other performances take place……..
![Page 10: Ppt English Jesse](https://reader034.vdocuments.us/reader034/viewer/2022052600/55836274d8b42a360c8b4832/html5/thumbnails/10.jpg)
The Dundas square is not at the level of the street, architects designed it to stand in a higher level, to make it interesting..

Tall buildings formed the edges of the square…

In conclusion
In second life, we can easily understand how places work…. All the aspects I mencioned on the presentation are represented in the locations in second life, so, it is a great resource to architects, and urban planners, to study and create interesting places.

In conclusion
If we compare the cities in second life with those in real life (taken dundas as a example) we notice that they are not so different in terms of the spaces and structures.
It was a great way to study…..
