Q.1 What is the composition of an Indian family? How many children are there in one

house?

• Indian families are nuclear families -families in which the parents and their children live together . According to all the eight people whom we interviewed, each house has two children or three children but however there are cases where families have a single child.

Q.2 Which family matters are being discussed? (like money matter/purchases,

studies, holidays, free time).

• Matters like career guidance, expenditure, financial matters are discussed. Even things like going out for a picnic,movies,how to spend free time are also discussed.

Q.3 What main values are taught by the parents?

• The parents who filled the questionnaire stressed on values such as respecting elders, the importance of praying and speaking the truth.

Q.4 How many siblings do you have? What kind of relation you have with your siblings?

• Ans- Commonly each of us have not more than two siblings. A friendly and a loving bond is shared among the siblings,as rightly said,having siblings is like built- in best friends.

Q.5 What kind of relation would you like to have with your sibling?

• Every person wants love and affection from their siblings and fortunately each of them have that. All they want is to spend time with each other.

Q.6 Which qualities of your sibling do you like or dislike?

• The loving and caring characteristics of their sibling was well appreciated and liked. They also shared equal responsibilities and duties.

Q.7 What kind of relations do your parents have with their siblings?

• Most of our parents enjoy a very loving and caring bond. They fondly recollect their childhood memories including playful fights and the moments of sharing responsibilities .

Q.8 Does the government have any family friendly policies? (Financial support)

• The ministries of Government India came up with various schemes time to time. These schemes were either Central, State specific or joint collaboration between the Centre and the States which provided them with health care facilities and employment.

Q.9 Conclusion drawn on the main question.

• One common thing that we found through this research was that every person who filled the questionnaire gave a lot of importance to their respective families. Family played a major role in their lives and it was above everything for them. Most of them loved to spend time with their families.

Q.10What is the reflection on the activities of the group? What went well? What would you do

differently?

• It was a wonderful experience to be a part of EUMIND project for all of us. It also gave a chance to know the outlook of the people and their thoughts. It was also interesting to find out the family facts!!!
