A  new  era  at  award-­‐winning  pneumatics  company    Staff  changes  take  company  into  a  new  phase  of  development  

12th  June  2014,  Halifax,  Compressed  air  specialists  Pennine  Pneumatic  Services  Ltd  

(PPS)  has  announced  staff  changes  to  take  the  company  into  its  next  phase  of  

development.  After  21  years  service,  Director  Leighton  Harris  will  leave  PPS  in  

November  of  this  year.  General  Manager  Ian  Harrison,  who  joined  the  company  in  

2001,  has  been  newly  appointed  as  a  Director  of  PPS  to  assist  with  the  running  of  the  

business.    

Leighton  was  headhunted  by  Atlas  Copco  for  a  role  at  PPS  in  1993  and  has  played  a  

significant  part  in  the  development  of  the  company  over  the  past  two  decades.    An  

apprentice-­‐trained  engineer,  he  worked  in  various  engineering  roles  throughout  his  

career  including  as  a  mechanical,  estimator  and  field  sales  engineer.  Starting  as  Sales  

Manager  and  achieving  a  promotion  to  Director  within  two  years,  Leighton  helped  

the  business  increase  sales  and  develop  new  areas  in  a  competitive  market  while  

building  a  deserved  reputation  for  excellent  customer  service.  

 

The  Halifax-­‐based  company,  has  achieved  major  successes  in  its  field,  recently  

winning  the  Atlas  Copco  Compressors’  Distributor  of  the  Year  Award  2013,  for  

achieving  recession-­‐busting  sales  of  Atlas  Copco  products,  topping  £1m.  One  of  the  

company’s  key  strengths  is  its  dedicated  staff,  all  of  whom  will  be  equally  rewarded  

from  the  award  funds.  

 

Managing  Director,  Gary  Whitaker  said:  “Leighton  has  been  an  integral  part  of  the  

company  for  the  past  21  years  and  a  key  player  in  the  success  of  Pennine  over  the  

years.  I  would  like  to  personally  thank  Leighton  for  all  his  efforts  and  wish  him  all  

the  best  in  his  new  endeavours.”  

 

He  continued:  “We  are  also  very  pleased  to  announce  Ian  Harrison’s  promotion  to  

Director.  As  a  long-­‐standing  member  of  staff,  I’m  sure  he’ll  continue  to  make  a  

valuable  contribution  to  the  future  growth  and  development  of  the  company.”
