CATC History

CATC was established on 4th June 1961 (B.E. 2504) under a cooperative project between

1. United Nations Special Fund (UNSF)

2. The International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO)

3. The Royal Thai Government

The objective of this project, which operated from 1961 – 1965 (B.E. 2504-2508), was to

develop and upgrade civil aviation in the Southeast Asia region.

CATC History

on 1 January 1966 (B.E. 2509), the Thai Government undertook sole responsibility for the

project.

Late of 1987 (B.E. 2530), a royal decree on the reorganization of CATC was issued,

establishing CATC as a division within the Department of Aviation,

Ministry of Transport.

CATC HistoryThailand government issued the Royal Decree

for establishment of the Civil Aviation Training Center in 1992 (B.E. 2535),

CATC became a state enterprise under the Ministry of Transport.

on 1 April 1993 (B.E. 2536), CATC was transferred completely from

the Department of Aviation with a registered capital of 150,000,000 Baht

which came from

1. Thai Airways International Public Company,

2. Aeronautical Radio of Thailand Limited,

3. Airports Authority of Thailand.

Under the Eastern Economic Corridor (EEC) project,

CATC has been assigned from the government to be

the leader for establishing an Aeronautical and Aerospace Training Center, U-Tapao

to arrange aircraft maintenance personal for supporting the MRO between

Thai Airways and Airbus, as well as other MROs and OEMs in Thailand and

the region.
