UNECE PPP InitiativeAim:

Help the UN members to start with feasible and bankable PPP’s by:

• UNECE International PPP Centre of Excellence

• PPP Specialist Centers with training centers

Using the UNECE PPP Toolkit

Working together with our PPP partners like WB, ADB, ERDB, EPEC


• The Bureau of TOS PPP agreed on the governance and organisational architecture that includes Specialist Centres responsible for specific sectors.

• At its second session in December 2009, the Team agreed on the need for an international PPP centre and supported the initiative to set up the International PPP Centre of Excellence under the auspices of the UNECE

• At its fifth session, CECI expressed support for its establishment, and noted that the Centre has the potential to become an effective vehicle for the exchange of good practices and policy experiences.

The UNECE PPP Initiative is an official United Nations programme that is being led by the UNECE on behalf of all five United Nations Regional Economic Commissions.

The UNECE PPP Centre of Excellence will assist governments in implementing best-practice PPP policy

The UNECE PPP Centre of Excellence aims to improve the quality of life for citizens through the improved quality of and access to public utilities and services.

The UNECE PPP Initiative (of centre of excellence???)will rely upon the support of host public-sector organisations to finance its operations

• Responsible for leading the development of Best-Practice Guides within their focus sector.
