6. For safety wear a certified DOT and/or Snell certified motorcycle type helmet that fits properly, over the ankle boots, eye protection and gloves

7. A Scooter does not provide impact protection of an automobile, so defensive riding as well as protective apperal is extremely important. Do not let protective apparel give you a false sense of security. 8. Always keep both hands on the handlebars and both feet on the floor. Removing your hands from the handlebars or feet from the floor while riding can be hazardous. If you remove even one hand or foot you can reduce your ability to con-trol the scooter. 9. Before changing lanes, look over your shoulder to make sure the way is clear. Do not rely solely on the the mirrors: you may misjudge a vehicles distance and speed, or you may not see it at all.

SAFETY1. Always read and understand the Owner’s/Operator’s manual and warnings before starting the Scooter for the first time

2. Use caution when providing maintenance on this Scooter. Make sure engine is turned off and all components are cool. Never attempt to make any adjustments while engine is running.

4. Do not modify this Scooter in any way, modifications could make the Scooter unsafe and/or in violation of Federal and State laws.

10. In general your actions should be smooth. Sudden acceleration, sudden braking or turning may cause loss of control, especially when riding in wet conditions or on loose roadway surfaces, when the ability to maneuver will be reduced.

11. When applying brakes, use both front and rear brakes at the same time. Sudden braking may cause the scooter to skid and loose control.

12. When going down a long slope, control vehicle speed by closing down throttle. Use front and rear brakes for auxillary braking.

13. In wet conditions rely more on throttle control and less on front and rear brakes. The throttle should also be used judiciously to avoid skidding the rear wheel from too rapid acceleration or deceleration

14. On rough roads use caution, slow down and be alert to obstacles which may affect balance and control.

15. Passengers should be thorougly familiar with operation of the scooter. A passanger can affect balance and control by improper positioning. It is important that a passenger sits perfectly still while riding and not interfere with any of the operation of the scooter.

OPERATING THE SCOOTER

The initial 300 miles of operation is most important in the life of your scooter . Proper operation during this break in pe-riod will help assure maximum life of your Scooter engine.

The following guidelines will explain the proper break in procedures.

1. During the first 125 miles of opera-tion, do not exceed 15 mph

2. During the next 180 miles of operation do not exceed 30 mph

Vary the engine speed

Make sure to vary the engine speed dur-ing the break in period, this allows the engine to load and unload which helps the parts to seat properly. It is essential to place some stress on the engine during the break in process, however, too much stress could cause damage to the engine components. Be careful not to load the engine too much.

BREAK IN PERIOD

Allow oil to circulate before operating.

Always allow the scooter engine to warm up before operating. This allows the oil to circulate throughout the engine which lubricates the components.

Observe your initial and most critical maintenance service

The initial service( break in maintenance) is the most important service for your scooter. During the break-in time frame, all of the engine components will have mated together and seated. Maintenance required as part of the initial service includes correction of all adjustments, tightening of all fasteners and replace-ment of dirty oil. Timely performance of this maintenance will help make sure your scooter will have the best service life and performance of the engine.
