Slide shows 2018 incoming freshmen data. By comparison, all degree-seeking students: 75% from Indiana, 42% are Pell eligible, about 50% are first generation whether neither parent earned a bachelor’s degree, 19% are 21st Century Scholars and 27 percent are minority.

Indiana State’s 21st Century Scholars are currently outperforming the total student population in both the completion of 30+ credit hours their freshmen year and in persisting to their sophomore year. The on-time graduation rate for ISU’s 21st Century Scholars has also show marked improvement and is closing in on the rate for all students. (On-time for all students = 28.9%, on-time for 21st Century Scholars = 26.3%)

Project will include: updated mechanical and electrical systems, bringing ADA accessibility up to current code, improved energy efficiency and weather resistance, and areas to enhance collaborative learning. �Today, Indiana State serves about 1 in 5 students through distance education (15% undergraduate, 41% graduate, 19.8% total). This is an increase of 67% in the last six years.

As you are aware, Indiana State’s appropriation has declined significantly over the last few budget cycles. At the same time, our enrollment has increased by 25%. We have addressed this by becoming more efficient and improving productivity. With our positive numbers in the performance-based funding metrics, we hope to see an improvement in our appropriation.
