Consequently, more Data Centers are needed because the virtual world of data has to reside somewhere, and new facilities are being built at a record pace to keep up. Yet a new Data Center facility can be a two-year construction project.

It can be deployed in less time than a “stick-built” data center, and at a lower Total Cost of Ownership. And since GE makes and integrates all of the power equipment in the containers, clients can deploy them FAST, allowing them to realize their ROI even faster.
What makes the PowerMOD offering unique?The highly efficient, modular GE PowerMOD enables clients to:
• Speed time to value by 77 percent with GE’s modular construction process. This provides clients a fully integrated, pretested container solution in as little as 16 weeks. Traditional data centers can take two years or more to plan, build and deploy.(4)
• Reduce capital investment costs by up to 25 percent. The GE PowerMOD offers a unique, modular design and turnkey solution approach that can result in as much as $1.9 million savings for clients, compared with building a traditional 1.2-megawatt data center.(5)
• Decrease facilities energy costs by up to 44 percent utilizing GE’s High Efficiency eBoost technology and Free Cooling Air Economizers to maintain a Power Usage Effectiveness (PUE) as low as 1.1, compared to a PUE of 1.9 or more for an average, traditional brick-and-mortar facility.(6
• Utilize GE electrical equipment for switchgear, panels, transformers, ups systems, busway, and monitoring, to allow for maximized integration and electrical coordination of all assemblies within the container.
