WHAT ARE ESSENTIAL OILS?Plants, like animals, have properties that protect them against a variety of environmental threats. They’re the plant’s essences, or essential oils. These essences provide chemical protection against invaders like insect predators by throwing off a distinct aroma and taste.1 Humankind has found many of these plant essential oils to be aesthetically pleasing. In fact, plant aromas have been used for centuries in medicines, foods, and perfumes.

When you diffuse an essential oil, the aroma enters through your nose, carrying with it the molecules that affect your brain. Inside your nose, the neurons within the olfactory bulb detect these molecules. Neurons communicate with the limbic system, the control center of your deepest emotions.

Plant essences can influence the central nervous system and can be classified as calming or energizing. Simply put, when you smell an essence, it affects your brain.2

More and more research suggests a correlation between essential oils and their potential. PROPRIETARY AUTHENTICITY SCORE

4Life™ Essential Oils comply with the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) and the Association Française de Normalissation (AFNOR) standards—the industry’s two top organizations for qualifying essential oil quality. We went one step further and developed a proprietary scoring system to carefully screen each incoming 100% pure essential oil for the presence of precise components at their peak levels that provide the ideal experience, or aroma power. We call it the 4Life-PIQ.

The 4Life-PIQ is determined by a combination of isotope, chirality, DNA, and ISO/AFNOR standards-based component testing. The overall score includes six to seven different factors, all centered on the authenticity, purity, and potency of the oil. In fact, we track our oils back to their precise plant materials to assure that they are what we say they are. Any score over 90 is considered ideal. All 4Life Essential Oils have a 4Life-PIQ score that is higher than 90.

The testing required to obtain a 4Life-PIQ score is a lengthy and costly process, but we’re committed to carefully analyzing each oil for specifically identified chemical components before it can carry the 4Life Essential Oils name.
