The Results

4,000 people engaged, 1,400 completed survey

There was overall support for the scheme (85% in favour)

Physical segregation of cycle lanes from general traffic particularly popular

A pro-active consultation using visualisations and online feedback tools will achieve greater local engagement

It offers the promoter an opportunity to take into account feedback from likely users to refine scheme designs

It also builds relationships with local groups for future engagement activities

This approach also helps to explain new concepts such as shared space and brings contentious parking issues to the fore early on in scheme design
