How to use Corel Paint Shop Pro….
By: Megan MayfieldEDC 344
One of my favorite things to do during my free time is design random graphics!
While most people use Adobe Photoshop, I prefer to use Corel PaintShop Pro.
What is Paint Shop Pro You Ask?!
Just like Photoshop, PSP (as I call it) is a graphics editing software that allows you to edit your photos in many ways and any other basic adjustments, like brightening or
straightening photos.
(Tutorial for “losing weight” with PaintShop Pro)
According to Cnet.com, most users rated all versions of Paint Shop Pro (46.1%) with 5 stars!

Here is a video example of one of the many features of
Paint Shop Pro….
Awesome right? Using the warp brush in that way is one of the more “complicated”
features.
The tutorial I will be showing next is really simple. I will be showing you how
adjust your images and blending two layers!
Step One: Launch Paint Shop Pro and open an image of your choice.
Step Two: Adjust the image automatically by clicking “Adjust One Step Photo Fix”
This automatically adjusts the brightness, contrast, etc. of your image, similar to this…
Step Three: Create a new layer by clicking “Layer
New Raster Layer” and filling it with the color of your choice
using the “fill” tool.
Now your image will look something
like this…
Step Four: Double click the “Raster 1” layer, then choose the “Blend mode” you want to use from the drop menu.
NOTE: The way your image will look will depend on the
color you chose for the layer and the blend mode.
Step Six: Now you’re all done! To combine, or “merge” the
layers you have created, click “layers merge merge all.”
Step Five: This step is optional, and totally up to you! Be as creative as you want by experimenting with the various
tools Paint Shop Pro has. Add text, butterflies, etc. Use your imagination!
CONGRATULATIONS! You have now created your own PSP photo! Save it and share with your friends.
