Definition of Marketing
• Marketing is the process of communicating the value of a product or service to customers. Marketing might sometimes be interpreted as the art of selling products, but sales is only one part of marketing. As the term "Marketing" may replace "Advertising" it is the overall strategy and function of promoting a product or service to the customer.[1]

Hungry? Thirsty? Bored? Irritating? Annoyed ? Or, When you
want to through your precious a bone?
As you see,
Marketing is deeply rooted in HUMAN’S EMOTION
Case study: Valentine’s Day
• In the U.SEvery February 14, candy, flowers and gifts are exchanged between loved ones, or, men give women flowers, all in the name of St. Valentine.
But, Unfortunately, in Japan…
History of VD in Japan• 1960s: first advertisement related to Valentine’s
day “Gift CHOCOLATE to your LOVER” conducted by the chocolate maker
• late 1970s: established ‘Japanese Valentine’s day” Women gift chocolate to men whom she loves
• early 1980s: created “White day” Men gift sweets to women, in turn of VD. (first campaign was conducted by Japanese sweets makers)
Sweets maker created new custom of Valentine’s day
Lets compare
Before the establishment of
VD
I really like

Conclution• Of course main purpose of marketing is “SELL A
PRODUCT”.But, if you concentrate ONLY on this, customers NEVER pay attention to you.For instance, there are 2 women who selling chocolate. One looks really bored. The other is tremendously nice. From which do you want to buy chocolate? That’s the thing. You have to consider not only how allude your product is, but also customers.
Marketing=MAKE LIFE (a little bit, but astonorshingly) FUN!
