What is Vampire Power ? Vampire or “Standby power“ Defined as products minimum

All electronics use power while not performing there main function

Why Does it effect me? $10 billion dollars per year in the US on wasted power

Cost average household up to 10% of your electricity bill

This translates to greenhouse gasses

What Can We Do? Buy Energy Star Products These have been tested to have low standby power usage

Check products that we buy There are many simple meters and ways to check our power

consumption

Unplug appliances and chargers not being used

Invest in new cutting edge products that help manage standby power automatically

Occupancy sensor Sensors that detect motion and control lighting or other

functions based of if someone is present in the area

Most commonly use for overhead lighting

Have payback of 1-3 years on new construction

Commissioning on all Mechanical and Electrical
