With over eight Committees, five Task Forces, and numerous events throughout the year, the Power InnAlliance has member opportunities to peak everyone’s interest and 2014 is the year to become more in-volved!.

Committees span the realm from crime and security to planning and development issues. Additionally, several task forces work under committees focusing on both long-term and short-term projects; such asarea branding and road improvements. The newest Task Force is Business Watch which works under thedirection of the Crime and Code Committee chaired by Nick Sikich ofAtlas Disposal in conjunction with Dawn Carlson, Program Managerfor The Alliance. This group of business members works towardcommunity awareness and locating resources for use in crime pre-vention.

More fun committees include the Ambassador and Picnic at the ParkCommittees. Members who enjoy interacting with the business com-munity and promoting the property and business district will aspireto be a part of these active committees. “I encourage membersinterested in networking and community outreach to become part of these fun and lively committees,” as-serts Jamie Szutowicz, Member Relations and Event Manager. “We have a lot of fun while working towardsthe betterment of the area.”

Committee descriptions are available at www.PowerInn.org/Committees.asp and the 2014 meetingschedule is available online at www.PowerInn.org/PIACalendar.asp or call 916.453.8888 and Jerry, Jamieor Dawn will be able to help guide you to the best committee for your interests.

The Power Inn Alliance appreciates the ongoing efforts of A&A Concrete Supply and their commit-ment to assist in the battle of street and bike lane debris. Thousands of vehicles, both large andsmall, travel each week throughout the area. Many of these vehicles are loaded to capacity withvarious materials which escape from their containers. Luckily for all the commuters and business-es operating in the area, A&A Concrete is voluntarily supplementing Sacramento City StreetSweeping Services.

Ron Coburn, Site Manager at the A&A Concrete Supply facility on Berry Avenue, takes area pride toanother level. According to Coburn “giving back to the commu-nity is as much a responsibility as a need to keep neighborssafe and the area looking good.” Coburn is a staunch supporterof The Alliance mission and a member of both the Planning andBusiness Development and Crime and Code committees.

A&A Ready Mixed Concrete, Inc. was created in 1949 in Gardena,CA. The company grew steadily and opened the Sacramento location in 2008, as one of 21 locationsthroughout Northern and Southern California. And today, A&A Concrete has become the largest-family-owned supplier of ready mixed concrete in the state.

Plans are underway for the “2014 Picnic at the Park” on Saturday,October 4th at Depot Park and area businesses are already sched-uling their Company Picnic for the venue! Even though the door hasjust recently closed on the 2013 Picnic the Picnic at the Park Com-mittee members are busy working with local vendors, media andentertainers to shape this year’s Picnic into an event not to miss.
