Power Exchange India Limited (PXIL) is organizing 3-days residential Leadership Course in “Power Generation & Risk Management” in association with the Administrative Staff College of India, Hyderabad (ASCI). The program is designed by the experts from PXIL and ASCI with focus on recent developments in the Power sector. The Venue for this program is ASCI Hyderabad Campus and program has been conveniently scheduled during 25-27 June 2014. OBJECTIVE:

The Indian Power Sector is going through significant and numerous changes to provide an impetus for competition and efficiency. Several policies and regulations have been introduced over the last decade. The sector has also seen the emergence of Markets in the Physical and Renewable Segments. The objective in conducting this training is to understand the evolving structure of the Indian Power Sector with a focus on power generation business. Sessions have been carefully designed to cater the requirements of professionals to bring out important issues that would affect business decisions in view of the latest happenings.

Managing Regulatory & Policy Risks: Understanding regulatory & Policy risks, ways for consideration/ quantification of such risks while planning or implementing a power generation project, Effect of expected changes at the policy & regulatory level on power generation business

Managing Fuel risk: Causes of fuel availability constraints & their effect on Power plant performance, Fuel availability constraints & planning for managing risks posed by fuel constraints, Options available to effectively manage fuel risks, Changes required for attracting further investments in Generation

Managing Contractual risk: Typical contracting structure, elements of power sale contracts, other contractual arrangements, scope for bilateral & short term contracting, diversifying risks & use of market options

Risks related to Renewable Energy generation: Regulatory, operational, contractual risks associated with renewable energy generation business, risk quantification & mitigation.

Power Market – Centre of Excellence The Power Market – Centre of Excellence (PM- CoE) at PXIL has now entered 4th year of its operation and has successfully created a knowledge pool of faculties and experts from academia as well as from the industry for running such training programs in association with premier educational institutes in India and Abroad.
