Some Guidelines for Best Practices
Rule of halves—if students say they need 10 more core members we walk them through how that means getting 20 people to commit to being a part of the organization. And that requires getting 40 people signed up…etc.
Recruit to events (or at least meetings with an event/fun component)
Map the Campus/Community Group and Individual goals Point people for list-keeping and new member follow-up Face-to-face conversations Appeal to self-interest (this isn’t in the handout, but comes
out of the conversation above). This is about targeting your recruitment ask to THEIR interests and motivations.
