s we are a relative newbie in the world of Irish beauty, we thought we would introduce

ourselves at the Irish Beauty Show 2014 held at the RDS, Dublin. It was great to finally meet some of our subscribers as well as some new friends in the industry. It was clear from the event that the Irish beauty industry is thriving at the moment and we’re really excited to be part of it all although we may have to invest in more comfortable shoes at the next event!

into bloom! More time as well to daydream about colourful wardrobes and fresh Spring looks.

We absolutely adore Spring!!

I try a number of foundations from high end to cheaper versions. No matter what I put on my face it looks great before I leave the house but after about 3 hours I have nothing left! Is there a foundation you would recommend that is super long lasting?

Great make up starts with great skin so I would highly recommend a good skincare routine, including exfoliating regularly. This will help to speed up the skin renewal process, reduce the appearance of large pores and allow products to

be better absorbed. Therefore, meaning that foundation will go on smoother and more even, which will help with the lasting power. When applying your powder, make sure you just press it onto the skin rather than buffing it, otherwise you will move the foundation.The long lasting foundations that I would recommend for each skin type would be; for dry skin - NARS Sheer Glow or Bobbi Brown Skin Foundation, for Normal/Combination Skin - YSL Le Teinte Touche Éclat or MAC Matchmaster foundations and for Oily Skin - Revlon Colurstay, MAC Studio Fix Powder Plus Foundation or Bare Minerals Original Foundation.

What can I do to make my eyeshadow last longer and not crease?

This is a really common problem for people and is caused by excess oil in the skin. First prime your lids with a primer. Try Urban Decay Eyeshadow Primer Potion, a Paintpot from MAC such as Painterly or NYX Eyeshadow base. Next, apply a cream shadow to the entire lid and let it set. Then layer on powder eyeshadow in a similar colour. Cream shadow has staying power because it’s absorbed into the skin and

the powder shadow absorbs the excess oil. If you like to line your eyes, try a liquid or gel eyeliner as this will last longer than a kohl pencil.

What can I do to make my small eyes appear bigger?

Start with your eyebrows, this frames the whole face and can create the illusion of more space above your lids if you have a small arch in them. Use a brow highlight, such as Vanilla by MAC. For the eyelid, choose a light reflecting eyeshadow, nothing too glittery, but with a bit of a shimmer such as Naked Lunch by MAC. Apply a small about under the eye as well on the lower lashline.For the inner tear duct you want something quite light such as Nylon by MAC which

is a great highlighter for this. For the socket line, you want something slightly darker to give you some definition to the lid, so apply something like Cork or Sable from MAC to the outer corner and blend outwards and up towards the brow - don’t take this all the way through the crease as this will close the eye up too much. In order to lighten the eye and make it look lower, line the inner waterline with a flesh coloured pencil. To line the upper lashline, simply apply a very thin line of gel or liquid eyeliner. Start about 2/3 of the way along the lashline and bring it out to a small flick, this will lift the eye. One of the most important steps is to curl the lashes to open the eyes. Apply lots of mascara to the top lashes and a small amount to the bottom lashes.
