A Proposal for the Development of the Poultry Value Chain

Together, Rota and ITARE propose themselves to design, implement and finance a turn-key project for the development of the poultry sector, which may include:

the complete design and engineering of the Model and the Model’s components;

the supply of the genetic material for crop and poultry;

the construction of the breeding and slaughtering facilities;

the supply and installation of the equipment;

the technical assistance and training.

ITARE completes Rota technical offer with the structuring of the Project funding, leveraging the Italian export credit system and a network of Italian and international lenders.

Benefits: Economical and Social Improvement of the competitiveness of the Poultry Value Chain in the Country;

Overall employment growth, especially for women and youths;

Improvement in the balance of payment and foreign currency savings due to reduced imports;

Chickens and eggs are produced, stored and marketed under conditions of adequate hygiene and health safety;

Improvement in the food security and in the prevention and control of infectious diseases like bird flu;

Case Study: West Africa Country

Creation of more than 1,500 new direct jobs and more than 5,000 indirect jobs, especially among women and youths.

Increase in the contribution of the poultry sector to the GDP by more than EUR 60 million per year.

Increase in the local supply of poultry meat by more than 20,000 tons per year.

Increase in the local supply of consumer eggs bymore than 274 million units per year.

Expected decrease in the consumer prices for chicken products by at least 10%.

1 Hatchery Facility, producing 115,800 new chickens for meat and 155,600 new chickens for laying hens during every 21-day production cycle;

5 dedicated Pullets Breeding Facilities with a capacity of 18,500 heads each;

75 dedicated Facilities for Laying Hens with a capacity of 7,500 heads each;

150 dedicated Facilities for Meat Chickens with a capacity of 7,500 heads each.

8 Slaughterhouse with a production capacity between 1,000 and 2,000 heads per hour each.

1 Feed Mill with a production of 20 tons per hour;

1 Laboratory.

Production: 500,000 eggs per day; 9,900,0000 chickens per year.
