‘The Skeleton Twins’ title consists of an actual skeleton image to further relate the title to the main objective. Furthermore, creating an effect on the audience, as they will want to develop a deeper understanding of the films background and purpose. Alongside this, the film could entice a wide audience as it includes both male and female characters. As well as this, the title gives a general idea of the narrative and genre without giving too much of the back story away to the audience.

The films tagline further provides the audience with a brief insight into the narrative and synopsis of the film. Thus allowing the audience to discover what the film is likely to be about, with the main topic of a family.

The consistent light blue colour scheme used by the illustrator connotes how the film is aimed at a male and female target audience. This can therefore, attract their audience whilst reinforcing the genre. The baby blue colour is known to symbolize trust and loyalty, of which is one of the main features between a pair of twins.

The main image on the poster clearly signifies a pair of twins with several similarities, including facial expressions. As well as this, the audience can learn that the two characters have a good relationship due to the way in which they are standing close next to each other.

The American film was released on the 19th of January 2014, with a low budget of $1 million. However, the film still won an award at the Sundance film festival in 2014. This presents how efficient the actors were in portraying a relationship between a pair of male and female twins.

‘The Skeleton Twins’ was produced by Craig Johnson, along with ‘True Adolescents’ in 2009 and plans to direct ‘Wilson’ in 2017. The director decided upon creating a thesis to develop his own career, which a small budget. Furthermore, he decided upon using Bill Hader and Kristen Wig to star in his movie, of which have both had previous acting careers, making them successful characters to suit the purpose of the film.

The director of the short film decided upon a title that gives very little information about the movie away. However, the term ‘Limbo’ is defined as an uncertain period of awaiting a decision or resolution. Therefore, the audience can gain a slight insight into what the main purpose of the short film may be.

The image used in this poster captures the meaning and purpose of the short, of which is evidently based upon the idea of freedom and opportunity. This allows the audience to gain an insight into what the film is about, without giving too much information away.

The tagline gives a brief insight into the narrative and synopsis of the text, whilst further allowing the audience to develop an underlining of the short film so they know what to expect when viewing the short.

Within this particular poster, there are few screening details, of which is common for short films as they have low budgets. Thus suggesting the director decided upon a more basic idea to get the main purpose across. However, at the bottom of the poster there is a list of names of all the important people involved in the creation and development of the short film.

There is a consistent colour scheme used within the poster, which is mainly dark pink, which is used in the sunset in the background image, as well as the text used to title the poster and the tagline. This attracts the target audience, whilst portraying the main purposes of the short film, before the audience has had a chance to gain an insight.

Krisstian de Lara produced the above short film with the help of two well known actors, Fernando Corral and Eulalia Moreno. Of which further encouraged success for the short film during the development and production. Fernando Corral has stared in several well-known movies and series such as Princesa Rota, this means that he has a good amount of experience to give a good interpretation of the character. However, Eulalia Moreno is a less well-known actor, so a short film would allow her to develop her acting career.
