This is because he is the subject of the poster, the reason for the intention of drawing audiences in. On this poster the shot used is a medium shot, enough so that the audience can see the character’s face and establish who he is and the actor. By doing this the audience are more likely to be drawn into the poster with recognition of who the actor is and how the character is highlighted. Luke Evans who is a famous actor would attract the target audience that The Hobbit needs with his performance in ‘Immortals’ which is a similar genre to ‘The Hobbit’ allowing the audience to relate and further promoting ‘The Hobbit’. He is also playing a character that not many would have heard of unless the book has been read, so playing this character promotes him itself as a famous actor is more likely to be remembered for this role. With the poster saying ‘Coming Soon’ doesn’t give a specific release date to it. Meaning that audiences will have to be fast and efficient in order to find out the information quickly about the film. Looking at essential media distribution areas.

Other reference to the website and distributors of the film is down below, it is small and not in the way of the main focus of the picture but still on the poster so viewers will still see it and have somewhere to go regarding information.

The title font that is used for ‘The Hobbit’ stands out and is similar to ‘The Lord of the Rings’ font, grabbing the viewers attention as it relates to previous successes and interests of the viewers.
