Two weeks l a t er (or a year later) ths mental i s t showsup at the VIP's offi c e (by appointment of cours e ) and after thesa l u tat i ons , the mental i s t places e small white coin envelopebefors the VIP. This coin envelops is visibly marked with to­days date , 1st' s say , December 15th, 1911. Performer then saye,"Sir, I want to try a warm-up test on you. I am going to dealcards f r om thi s deck one at a t ime. Please t ell me when to stop."Here the ment a list deals a few car ds showing the face of eachcard and t hen deals car ds unseen until told to stop.

Ths card stopped at is no ticed. Let ' s say i t is the 4of Heart s . Performer direc te the VIP to take out the white cardfrom the White coin envelope in front of him and to read ~t itsays. The message predicts the choice of the 4 of hearts .

NOTE TO THE READER. We are here resorting t o a simplecard predic t i on because the card effect will pale into insig­nificanc e and will be forgotten seconds after due t o the de­vastating effect which follows it.
