Home Based Care (CHBC)
service implemented by Save
the Children’s Global Fund
program in Nepal. Through the
CHBC program, regular home
visits by medical attendants
have resulted in quality living
for our beneficiaries.
Community Care Centers (CCC) provide
essential health, referral and psychosocial
to those who have started Anti Retroviral
Therapy (ART)
Bisexuals, transgender, gays and lesbians are living a
dignified life because of the primary care, social and legal
support provided by the Blue Diamond Society (BDS)
under the Global Fund program.
Counseling services are provided in all 19
Community Care Centers (CCC). Clients receive
life saving information on HIV and AIDS, ART
adherence, managememnt of opportunistic
infections, essential refferals, prevention and care
of Sexually Transmitted Infections, safe sex and
positive prevention.
HIV testing is available
throughout Nepal from
38 Voluntary Counseling
and Testing (VCT)
centers managed by Save
the Children.
Save the Children provides clean needle and syringes to
injecting drug users under its harm reduction program.
Methadone maintenance program is
provided in six government hospitals, who
work very closely with Social Support
Units funded by the global fund to provide
methadone to people who inject drugs.
6,557injecting drug users now
use clean needle and
syringes and 879 are
now taking methadone.
405Female Sex Workers
have received crisis
response.
62,855total population tested for
HIV and counseled.
3,425people living with HIV have
recieved care and support
services through Community
Home Based Care.
122,140male labor migrants

through Behavioral
Change Communication
interventions.
16,314 men who have sex with
men, male sex workers and
transgenders have been
