The University of Colorado-Boulder, the BioFrontiersInstitute, and the Linda Crnic Institute for Down Syn-drome seek courageous and innovative postdoctoralfellows to ameliorate cognitive, cardiovascular, neuro-degenerative or other ill effects of trisomy 21 in affectedchildren. Possible approaches include working withpeople with Down syndrome, mouse or other animalmodels of Down syndrome, or cell lines trisomic forchromosome 21. Energy Biosciences InstituteTe Energy Biosciences Institute (EBI) is an externally funded theme withinthe IGB. It is the largest industry/academia collaboration to date, currentlyreceiving $500 million over ten years and focusing on the development of sec-ond-generation biofuels intended to significantly slow the rate of global climatechange. Its research ranges from systems biology of fermentative organismsto quantification of ecosystem services provided by new sustainable biofuelcrops. Other areas include development of enzymes of efficient plant biomassdepolymerization, biofuel law and social and economic impacts. TheLaboratory specializes in the development of novel massspectrometry methodology and provides service forresearchers both within and external to IU. We seek acreative, highly motivated scientist with a Ph.D. chem-istry, biochemistry, or cell biology with 0–3 years post-doctoral experience. The ideal candidate will possessa creative, analytical approach to problem solving,the ability to work independently and the ability tolead interdisciplinary collaborations among multiplelaboratories.
