Develops and implements science activities for Science Center visitors 2. Implements table activities and crafts for visitors of the Science Center for special event. Activity set up is part of this. 3. Represents South Florida Science Center and Aquarium for offsite events and expositions. 4. Reports any incidents to Director Membership and Special Projects. 5. Adheres to the policies and procedures of the Science Center. 6. Other duties as required to fulfill the duties of the position which often include events, guest services and education departments. Qualifications 1. An interest in public education relating to science, engineering, math and technology. 2. Must be able to deal effectively and courteously with children, the general public and co-workers. 3. Ability to be creative and engaging with visitors as well as a desire to continuously develop new ideas for presenting STEAM education. Events Education Interpreter: The South Florida Science Center is looking for an Event Educator to work with special events. This is a part time position (perfect for university students or high school seniors) that would include occasional weekday night events, and weekends. This staff assists in the development and delivery of creative, hands-on table activities and live demonstrations. Candidates completing a minimum two years of college in a science or education degree are the best candidates, but seniors in high school with a strong focus on STEM education is acceptable.
