ABOUT SPORT LEISURE &
FACILITIES
The Sport, Leisure & Facilities Branch provides Supporting
community wellbeing through the provision of entertainment,
arts, sport, community facilities and associated services.
These services are provided through five programs,
namely:
Branch Management Program
To provide overall management to the branch in respect to
the areas of financial direction, customer service,
leadership, culture and service delivery.
Leisure Centres Program
To be nationally recognised for providing professionally
managed venues delivering the highest quality, innovative
aquatic, health, sport and event experiences that also
engage the Logan community in an active, fun, healthy and
safe environment.
Community Infrastructure Program
To construct and maintain Community Infrastructure and
facilities, to provide safe and operable buildings and
sporting facilities, provide technical advice, project
management and strategic asset management.
Logan Entertainment Centre & Community Venues
Program
Manage venues to deliver and develop events of a Civic,
Corporate, and Community, Entertainment or Artistic nature
in a safe, sustainable and engaging manner.
Sport & Recreation Program
Plan, develop, and connect to achieve a healthy Logan
through sport & recreation.

REPORTS TO:
Promotions and Campaign Coordinator
JOB PURPOSE 1. To provide expertise in the development and implementation of marketing activities relevant to the business operations of
Council’s Sport and Leisure Facilities. Additionally, the provision of strategic advice and assistance in the development of internal and external marketing programs for SLF as directed.
2. Deliver promotional programs and activities that align to the Sport, Leisure & Facilities Branch Business Plans and Project Plans, including all aspects of marketing the required programs and activities.
3. Provide marketing advice and support for tasks associated with the promotion of products and services across the Logan
Entertainment Centre & Community Venues and Leisure Centre Programs.
4. Implement and manage SLF digital marketing strategy with the aim of growing digital communities and enhancing community engagement to meet marketing objectives.

This position works autonomously, under limited supervision working with from the Coordinator, SLF program leaders and staff
as required

MARKETING & STRATEGIC DIRECTION
Develop and implement marketing and communication campaigns and strategies in support of Council's Sport Leisure and
Facilities Branch, including promotional schedules.
Consult with the Promotions and Campaign Coordinator and Program Leaders when devising strategies to ensure the venues
brand, vision and reputation are communicated effectively.
Provide strategic marketing advice and direction to Council’s SLF Branch on best practice marketing.
Identify opportunities to promote SLF businesses through digital marketing, events, community engagement and other activities
Positively influence change management with the marketing program and Council
Liaise with a range of internal and external clients. Collect and collate marketing collateral from promoters and hirers for use in
print and digital campaigns and manage external agencies where applicable.
Share knowledge, expertise and ideas to enhance the reach and engagement of SLF marketing initiatives.
Ensure ongoing improvement through suitable evaluation processes, creative thinking and actively seeking emerging trends and
opportunities.
Attend key events as required to capture and promote the program and venue.
Social Media Platform Management: In consultation with the SLF and Promotions and Campaign Coordinator, plan and implement social digital strategies over SLF platforms and profiles to support the branch’s objectives.
Expand the size, reach and engagement of each of SLF’s social media communities through targeted campaigns and strategic partnerships.
Create, edit, source and curate valuable and engaging content for each SLF social media platform. This will include building and maintaining relationships with key internal and external stakeholders in the community.
Report on performance and analytics of each platform.
Define and develop social media personas that align with the individual voice and tone of each social media community.
Digital Campaign Management: Collaborate with SLF clients to plan, execute, manage and evaluate digital campaigns.
Community Moderation: Monitor and respond to SLF social media platforms to stimulate conversation with new and existing audiences. Moderate communication and engagement on Council’s social media platforms according to Council’s social media policy and moderation guidelines.
Identify and flag possible emerging social media risks.
Content Creation & Delivery: Digital -
Create, manage, optimise and evaluate digital advertising campaigns, using platforms such as Facebook, Business Manager, Google AdWords and Instagram.
Monitor and manage conversations, discover relevant and engaging content, schedule posts and identify new digital marketing opportunities to support the branch’s objectives.

Produce analytics reporting and recommendations on campaign effectiveness, social media engagement and growth with recommendations. Work with external digital agencies to boost reach and enhance analytics.
Monitor social media platforms for brand and topic-related conversation and actively engage in posts to promote SLF marketing objectives.
Print -
Coordinate the production and distribution of various print materials
Create, format and resize graphic and creative content for various types of print distribution
Prepare seasonal and adhoc print materials for the business development of the SLF Branch Programs
Innovation:
Report on trending and effective social media activity and find innovative ways increase LEC, CV & LC social media footprint, improve engagement and integrate with other marketing and service delivery activities.
Share knowledge and insight into new social media applications, channels and tools for review and assist in further investigation, recommendation and implementation of any agreed initiatives by the Promotions and Campaign Coordinator.

Demonstrated experience in developing and implementing best practice marketing and social media campaigns.
Demonstrated effective writing skills including experience in creating and editing content for traditional and digital platforms.
Demonstrated Intermediate graphic design skills with the ability to reformat, resize and enhance images with a high level of attention to detail.
Thorough knowledge of current and emerging digital media trends and digital technologies.
Demonstrated ability in the project management of marketing initiatives.
Demonstrated ability to work as an effective team member.
Demonstrated ability to communicate and deal with people at all levels, make prompt reliable decisions within the bounds of responsibilities and demonstrated effective networking skills.

REQUIREMENTS & POSITION SPECIFIC CONDITIONS
A degree in Marketing, Communication or similar from a recognized tertiary institution would be advantageous
