Since obtaining the 5th public harbour towage licence
from MPA in Nov 2013, the overall market response has
been very positive. New service contracts were inked with
Wallenius Wilhelmsen, one of the largest car carrier group
in the world, Fujitrans Asia, the transportation company
of Toyota automobiles in the Asia pacific region and
sembawang shipyard, the largest shipyard in the northern
sector of the singapore Port. in addition, POsH is now the
main harbour towage service provider for vessel movement
in the east Johor straits.
To complement the towing services, a 24 hours control centre
which is equipped with modern state of the art technology
has been established.
The control centre boasts full VHF communication coverage
of all areas in the singapore port waters, extending reach
to the singapore straits Traffic separation scheme. With an
Ais vessel tracking and monitoring system installed, POsH is
also able to monitor all vessels and tugs movements within
the port.
in addition, there is also a tracking portal linked to the
MPA Marinet for vessel arrival and departure notices, which
enables POsH to be updated with vessel particulars data
and pilot booking times, for individual vessels on real time
feed. A set of communication recorders also taps all VHF
channels and phone lines for communication, recording
and referencing. To minimise administrative work, an
automated tug ordering and billing system is currently in its
commissioning phase.
With the growing confidence in our capabilities, POsH looks
forward to providing an enhanced service offering for all
existing and new clients in time to come.

POSH WINS 3RD REPEATED JOB FROM FRANKLIN OFFSHORE
PROJECT UPDATES
Retrieving of moorings onto 16,000BHP AHTS, POSH Constant
Our 16,000BHP AHTS, POSH Constant, the largest Indonesian-flagged vessel in our fleet, was selected by Franklin Offshore, a leading
service provider of quality rigging and mooring equipment, for the 3rd time to assist with the pre-lay mooring in Indonesia.
It began in September 2012 with the pre-laying of moorings for semisubmersible rig, Ocean Monarch. This was in preparation for the Niko
Resources campaign in Indonesia and was followed by the retrieval of the moorings from Niko at the end of the campaign in December
2013.
Both Diamond Offshore and Franklin Offshore were extremely satisfied with the efficient and effective performance of POSH Constant.
Assured by the reliability of POSH Constant, Franklin Offshore chartered her again in May 2014, to inspect the moorings for Ocean
Monarch, before her forward commitment to TOTAL Indonesia.
Paul Holley, on behalf of Franklin Offshore, confers thanks
to POSH and the POSH crew for a job well done. Having
recovered all the moorings without damage, incidents or
injuries with an unprecedentedly safe and effective method,
Franklin Offshore is extremely pleased with the vessel’s
performance.
Franklin Offshore’s affirmation of POSH’s performance is a reflection
of POSH’s ability to continue to deliver at the highest level and to
always strive to exceed charterers’ expectations.Releasing of buoys from POSH Constant

POSH IN WEST AFRICA
PROJECT UPDATES
Africa remains a key market for POSH, as the company continues
to look out for suitable opportunities in the booming region.
Apart from expanding the existing markets in Gabon, Congo and
Angola, POSH is also constantly exploring new potential markets
like Ghana, Equatorial Guinea and also East Africa.
During a management visit to the 10,800BHP DP2 AHTS, POSH
Venture, in Congo on 17 June, Kelvin Teo, General Manager
of Offshore Supply Vessels (OSV) Division spoke to the Captain
and crew on board and commented them for their hard work
rendered for Perenco Gabon and SK Drilling as well as the existing
job for TOTAL Congo.
“It has been a tough and hectic schedule for POSH Venture over the past weeks, with back to back fixtures for the vessel from Perenco
Gabon to SK Drilling to TOTAL Congo. Nevertheless, the vessel has performed well, with Perenco Gabon commenting that the vessel
completed the entire scope of pipe transportation way ahead of schedule,” Kelvin said.
At present, TOTAL Congo is glad to have POSH Venture back as part of their pool of supporting vessels in Congo due to positive feedback
from their team during the past charters.
“With a total of 6 POSH vessels working in West Africa now, we hope to expand our fleet in this region, in time to come,” said Kelvin.

On 10 April 2014, POSH was awarded a contract by Heerema
Marine Contractors to provide an anchor-handling tug to
assist in the jacket installation of the HelWin2 Offshore HVDC
platform.
12,000BHP AHT, Salviceroy, was deployed by POSH Terasea
Offshore Pte Ltd from Rotterdam to perform the operation.
Salviceroy is equipped with a bow Smit bracket of SWL 200 tons,
which is ideal for operations that require the tug to be connected
at the bow to pre-laid moorings. Her main engines run on
IFO180cst, making her economical and versatile for long distance
ocean towage. Besides towage, the Salviceroy is also capable of
undertaking anchor handling activities.
Salviceroy towed the Heerema barge, H-406, which was loaded
with the jacket and piles for the HelWin2 Offshore HVDC platform,
from Flushing, Netherlands, to the Helwin Field. Soon after arrival
and whilst still connected to the H-406, Salviceroy made a bow
connection to a pre-laid anchor using a bow Smit bracket.
Once the H-406 secured, the semi-submersible crane vessel, Thialf,
lifted the jacket and piles off the H-406. Upon the discharge of
jacket and piles, Salviceroy towed the H-406 back to Flushing.

POSH was contracted to tow jack-up rig, COSL Seeker, from
Singapore to Surabaya in the second quarter of 2014. The
203TBP AHT, Terasea Eagle, was the nominated tug for this
towage.
Terasea Eagle was hooked up to the rig at the West Jurong
Anchorage, Singapore and commenced ocean towage after
outbound pilots disembarked.
COSL Seeker was safely delivered in Surabaya on 28 April 2014
and Terasea Eagle proceeded to assist with the positioning duties
as the rig jacked down its legs.
Built in Yokohama, Japan and delivered in 2013, Terasea Eagle is a
AHT built specifically for long distance towage. She has a towage
endurance of 45 days without having to stop for bunker. Terasea
Eagle is also capable of executing offshore mooring and anchor
handling work amongst other operations. She is one of the four
200TBP-rated AHTs operated by POSH.
The construction of our two Semi-Submersible Accommodation
vessels, POSH Xanadu and POSH Arcadia, reached a new
milestone on 28 May 2014. Engineers from Wartsila and PaxOcean
successfully started the main generators of POSH Xanadu,
achieving “first smoke” ahead of schedule.
This accomplishment was only made possible through close
cooperation between POSH SEMCO, PaxOcean and Wartsila.
With the yard working at full tilt, we are on track to achieve on-
time delivery of POSH Xanadu to our clients.

PW L1501 LOADS VETAG 8 ONTO MV DA TAI IN JURONG PORT, SINGAPORE
PROJECT UPDATES
In March 2014, 1,500 tons crane barge, PWL1501 was engaged
to lift a newbuild cable lay barge of approximately 1,200 tonnes
from water onto a transportation vessel at Jurong Port, Singapore.
The cable lay barge was newly built in Philippines and TAGU
Offshore had to tow it from Philippines to Singapore before
loading it onto the transportation vessel using PWL1501. POSH
was able to provide a one stop service to the client during
the entire process, from towing the barge to loading it onto
the transportation vessel in port. With the crew executing a
seamless operation, delivery and loading of the barge onto the
transportation vessel in Singapore was completed speedily.
Following the successful loadout operation carried out by
PWL1501 in Singapore, the cable laying barge proceeded safely
to its final destination in Europe.

MORE THAN JUST EMERGENCY RESPONSE
PROJECT UPDATES
On 27 May 2014, two teams of divers, a diving launch, a
hydraulic power pack, an underwater cleaning machine,
an underwater closed-circuit television system and underwater
cameras were mobilized for work barge, TOA JDN 2 which was
berthed alongside TOA Corporation Jetty, to carry out underwater
hull cleaning and underwater CCTV Survey.
It was a successful operation for SEMCO Salvage and Towage
Pte Ltd (SEMCO), whom provided a full cleaning of the barge’s
vertical sides, flat bottom and skegs. The hull, which was almost
fully encrusted with acorn barnacles, sea algae and oysters of
approximately 30mm in height, were then manually scrapped
clean and inspected by the divers.
This entailed a coordinated approach so that the operation can
be performed quickly and safely in order for the vessel to be
discharged, reloaded and be on her way promptly.
In another project, SEMCO cleaned up the hull of a vessel that
ran through an oil slick and had her side shell plating dirtied;
threatening contamination of the port where she loads and
discharges. Albeit a seemingly straight forward job, SEMCO took
caution to ensure that no runoff water while cleaning, to avoid
any potential oil spill.
Apart from these projects, SEMCO is also constantly on standby, to
respond to any urgent oil spill or salvage requirements worldwide
or as requested by its pool of long-term clients.

PORT STRATEGIST CAPTAIN TAN KIM LEONG
COMPANY UPDATES
Captain Tan Kim Leong alongside POSH Harvest
POSH welcomes Captain Tan Kim Leong aboard as General
Manager of their Harbour Services team.
Taking on his first job ashore after a decade of sailing, Captain Tan
did not expect himself to spend 37 years (and counting) dedicated
to a single industry.
Over the years, Captain Tan has witnessed tugs evolving from
conventional propeller systems to the present day steerable rudder
propellers. Not only that, the man himself had facilitated and set
up ports for several companies around the world. Amongst them
are South China Towing company in Hong Kong, Jiang Yin Towing
company in Fu Zhou and Beibu Gulf Towing in Fang Cheng Gang,
China.
When asked on how he remains undaunted in this challenging
and diversified industry, Captain Tan instinctively recounted the
satisfaction of overcoming problems.
During the 1980s, Captain Tan visited many advanced ports in
Germany and brought back the practice of a three man crew on
board by combining mechanisation and automation on tugs. It
could not be implemented immediately due to the restriction of
tug designs, but after a three year gradual reduction, tugs are
now more cost and crew efficient in Singapore.
With his passion for the industry, Captain Tan thrives on the
fulfilment of untying difficult knots for this industry.
He also believes in striking a balance between consultative and
participative management styles. Drawing from his large reservoir
of experience, Captain Tan aims to motivate his team to achieve
goals by being an empathetic leader.
Through strong communication and together with his dedicated
management team, Captain Tan trusts that he is able to find the
best solution for every challenge that comes his way.
With Captain Tan’s fervour and calibre, POSH are confident that
the Harbour Services team will soar to even greater heights.

POSH SEA STAFF SEMINAR IN MANILA, PHILIPPINES – ONE TEAM
POSH CREW MEMBER BAGS SAFETY AWARD ONCE AGAIN
COMPANY UPDATES
POSH Crew at the 9th Sea Staff Seminar at Traders Hotel, Manila
On 14 June 2014, a total of 61 officers and ratings attended the
9th Sea Staff Seminar at the Trader’s Hotel, Manila. Amongst
them were POSH Group officers from Singapore, Malaysia, China
and Philippines.
The seminar’s theme was “One Team” so as to imbue the spirit of
“One Team” in POSH.
Ten speakers from POSH Group presented interactive sessions of
discussions on case studies and updates on various informative
topics such as safety, operations, technical, purchasing, crewing
and training.
The much anticipated new uniform for POSH officers was also
launched and it was well received with pride and enthusiasm from
all staff and crew.
Following the unveiling of the new uniform was “The Amazing
POSH Race – Manila” where participants were grouped into eight
teams and tied together hand to hand for the race.
Each team had to exhibit the spirit of “One Team” in order to
accomplish various tasks such as racing through Metro Manila,
swimming and tug of war.
In addition to the theme of “One Team”, POSH’s five main values
(service, commitment, cooperation, trust and support) were also
highlighted.
Mr. Ronel Tacud, Able Seaman of 12,000BHP AHTS, POSH Persistence, was awarded
second prize of PetroVietnam Technical Services Corporation (PTSC) Marine Safety
Award Program in April 2014 for good awareness of complying with Industrial Safety and
Hygiene, Fire Prevention and Environmental Protection works.
POSH congratulates Mr Tacud for upholding the high safety standards and also look forward
to cooperating with PTSC Marine to continue the stellar safety performance and awareness.

The POSH Fleet Services crewing department attended a four hours
seminar by Mr. Cheng Huang Leng, a well-known maritime veteran
in June 2014. Mr. Cheng shared his years of experience on Steven
Covey’s “7 Habits of Highly Effective People” and “Lateral Thinking”
and “Scamper”.
He combined these great works of the renowned management
guru into a simple session called “Ready, Set, Go!” dealing with
challenges and uncertainty.
The session was a highly energised seminar which addressed head-
on the daily operational rigours of the crewing department.
The first half of the seminar was a self-discovery journey for participants where trainers facilitated issues and examples ranging from
dependence to independence. The importance of proactivity, clarity, purposefulness and smart goal-setting were also highlighted.
The second half of the seminar touches on the many instances of interdependence in the workplace.
A leadership style with a bottom up support approach as opposed to the conventional top down hierarchical structure really struck a chord
in the hearts of managers present at the seminar.
