Get up to speed with professional portrait photography. This exclusive workshop will teach you the essentials and more, including lighting setups and techniques on how to get the most out of your models. Using our very own in-house studio, you’ll have access to top-end equipment and gain hands-on experience by shooting real models. From setting up your light and mastering workflow to managing your subjects, the workshop covers everything necessary to execute a successful portrait shoot.

You will arrive in Fuschl am See and check into your hotel, Hotel Mohrenwirt.

WORKSHOP DAY 1

We will meet at COOPH HQ at 9am and begin the workshop with an introduction and presentation of the program. This will be followed by an analysis of your portfolios and then a gear presentation and demo.

In the afternoon we will have an interactive studio shoot demonstration at our in-house studio followed by a model test shoot for all participants.

We will review everyone’s work and give personal feedback.

We will finish the day with an optional group dinner at a local restaurant.

WORKSHOP DAY 2

Day 2 will start with a recap of yesterday plus an interactive feedback round.

We will then go over conceptual idea planning for the upcoming model shoot, giving a demonstration of this followed by time for all participants to prepare themselves.

We will spend the rest of the day putting all the above into practice with a live shoot with a model. Following this, we will do an introduction into post production.

Finally we will review the whole workshop and give feedback.

THE TUTOR

LEO ROSAS

Leo is from Caracas, Venezuela and skateboarding has been his main influence on his photography.

After winning the Venezuela Red Bull Photo Challenge in 2007, Red Bull invited Leo to join their Photography Academy in 2008.

Leo was a Red Bull Illume semi-finalist in 2010 and helped with the judging on the competition in 2013. Leo has been training photographers for over 4 years and has worked for big name clients such as Vans, Salewa, Suunto, Vibram, Dainese and broncolor.

CAMERA: DSLR cameras are ideal but any camera with manual con-trol will do, especially if you can trigger flashes in a rear mode (second curtain).

FLASHES: Speed-lights, compact flash systems, are all welcome, if you have radio triggers these are very useful as well.

LENSES: As many as you have or can carry with you.

HARD- & SOFTWARE:Laptop with Bridge/Lightroom and Photoshop.

OUTDOOR CLOTHES: We recommend you check the forecast before and bring what’s suitable.
