  • Business CardDescription:

Business card designed using a personally created logo.

Process: I used Illustrator to create and design the logo, the card shape, and the design of the stationery. I placed everything in InDesign after. I started

out with creating the logo, using a series of circles and stars, layered on top of each other. I chose a fun, playful font for the Lemonade to deliver the message of the company. I created a cloud shape and cut out an edge of the card to fit the message. For the stationery, I enlarged the clouds of

the logo and watered the opacity down for a watermark.

    Programs: InDesign, Illustrator

    Date: 5/13/15

Objectives: I wanted to create a cohesive branded theme for a company.

  • Description: A two-sided folding brochure

Process: I started out my project by selecting the right images that would

create a gestalt whole. I created the front cover of the brochure by designing and layering wave shapes in Illustrator. For the sand textured

background, I chose a sandy picture. In Photoshop, I used the healing brush to cover the cup of beer. I created another layer with low opacity

and painted over the sand in a speckled orange brush. (the original was grayer and didnt fit in as well with the color scheme Id chosen.) I created the logo in Illustrator. I put the brochure together in InDesign,

placing my images and text together. I formatted the body copy with the same style in color, font, and paragraph type. I wrapped a paragraph

around the little girl image (which I had clipped out in Photoshop). I then folded my brochure.

  • Description:A webpage designed to showcase a personally designed logo

Process: I wrote up the content of my webpage in a Word document. I then used

the code to create the format for the webpage in a program called Text Wrangler. I linked my CSS document and my html document together. I chose specific fonts that matched my logos. I left aligned my text and

headings. I right aligned my log to create balance on the site. I put extra padding under my first heading so that it had adequate white

space. I did the same for my logo image. I included a hyperlink to my website post.

  • Description:This is a logo designed for a company that distributes a light, refreshing

    lemonade.

    Process:

I started out with many different concept sketches. I chose the ones that best fit the message and designed a few on Illustrator. I then asked

about 11 people which design they preferred. I chose the one that I liked and that ranked highest. I then refined that design in Illustrator,

changed the original fonts for a better fitting font. I then copied the logo and changed the color scheme into grayscale, as well as white-on-

    color. Programs: Illustrator

  • Description:This is a full-color flier for a company promoting a benefits event

    Process:

I found an image in a magazine, then scanned it. Before scanning, I cropped it using the scanners Preview page. I used Word to create

and design my image. I started by resizing the image to fill the page. I wanted to use the eyes of the man in the image to point to the title.

His eyes and the title are the main focus. I used his eyes to lead the onlooker to the title, the date-time-place-price info, and the benefactor. This created a visual flow. I aligned all of the text to the left, to balance

the design. I created a mini-sandwich to inclose the benefactors logo. I did this by creating two rounded rectangles and a cloud shape. I colored

hem golden and lime, respectively. I aligned this sandwich with the actual images sandwich. This gives it repetition. I chose lime, because

it matches both the mans eyes and the lettuce of the image. I chose golden because it matches the skin tone, the bread, and his hair color. I used purple because it provides contrast against the other colors. This is

    split complementary color scheme.

    created logo Process:

I placed my logo in the top left corner of the stationery . I verlaid the logo with the companys title. In the top right I included pertinent

information . For the background, I enlarged the logos cloud shapes and watered down the opacity.

  • Description:A black and white flier to promote a graduate leadership

    conference.

Process:I started out with a few different sketches on paper. I chose my favorite sketch and begin to set it up in InDesign. I created the

title as the most central focus. I made the title one of the largest images in the design for contrast. I shaped my white space, so

that I didnt crowd out the important information. I used a bar of dark rectangles for repetition. As Ilooked over my original copy, I felt that I had gone too heavy on repition and deleted many of the extra rectangles. I grouped the images and text together to provide for better visual flow (the middle had an

awkward gap of white space). I spaced out the rectangles above and below the title. I changed the opacity of the rectangles

under the sentence Do you want to have the competitive edge in business?

  • Description:A blend of two photos that create a montage

Process:I recreated this project. I found two compatible images on

Unsplash.com. I chose the man sitting in the car image as my background. I then clipped a selection of the cloud nd river landscape and dragged it into my background. I then used

the brush tool to create a montage of the two images so that they faded into each other. I emphasized the silhouette of the

man and the clouds to deliver the message of the design.

  • Description:This is an original photo incorporating a specific color scheme, using

Photoshop for image editing and design.

Process:I took this photo with my smartphone, i lined up the trees and their

brances with the three-rule grid. I purposely made sure that the sky, the tips tf the trees, and the horizon fit in with this grid. I chose a photo with

a complementary color schemegreen foliage and hints of red in the trees branches. In Photoshop, I applied the four basic edits. I drew out the

yellows, the greens, and the magenta to emphasize the color scheme. I slightly increased the vibrance of the image. I shifted the levels of the darks, midtones, and lights to be darker. I sharpened the red in the trees. I created

a red border on the left and the bottom of the image. I chose the left side because it gave the image balancethe focus is the right-middle side with the

long verticle tree standing out. I aligned the text with the red tree top.
