INTRODUCTIONThe Architect Christos Mitsingas is active since in1982 .

He is, graduated from Kykkos Pancyprian Gymnasiumand after serving his military service in 1973-75, hecontinued his studies in France, in the architectureschool of Toulouse «Unite Pedagogique darchitecture de Toulouse» in 1975-81 from where heacquired the title of «Αrchitect DPLG» (Diplômé ParLe Government).

He is involed in various architectural studies such ashouses, building blocks, apartments, offices,industrial buildings etc. At the same time however,he has also dealt with the renovations and interiorlayouts of offices, hotels etc.

The architects’ involvement in tourist villages studygroups, both in Cyprus and Greece, provided himwith great experience in these areas. In Cyprus hehas also engaged with tourist complexes as well asland development projects.

He has has shown a great deal of interest in therestoration and the renovation of listed andpreserved buildings. In this regard it has beenawarded with the highest award, the Europa NostraMedal 2001 for the renovation of “Lions Home in theold town of Nicosia”.

He has also worked with specialized buildings such asthe Egyptian Embassy in Nicosia (architecturalcontest), the Saint Chrystoforos Foundation for agedpeople with mental retardation, an infant- toddlerstation, the Saint Chrystoforos church, etc.

His aim is to provide and offer the best possibleservice to its clients by designing buildings witharchitectural and functional quality, based on theirown specifications.

This project was originally two houses thathave been converted into multi-use space forseminars, conference halls, meeting roomsand spaces for exhibitions.

EMBASSY OF THE ARAB REPUBLIC OF EGYPTMetoxiou Kykkou area, Nicosia

This project involved the construction of theEmbassy of the Arab Republic of Egypt inNicosia.

The entire building area was 3000sqm andincluded office spaces for the embassy itself,the Consulate and the Commercial and CulturalAttaché of the embassy, reception and banquetareas, as well as living spaces for people dealingwith the security of the building.

A’ Price of Architectural CompetitionThe project was won the 1rst price of architectural competitionlaunched and evaluated by the Egyptian Foreign Ministry in Cairo

CITY PLAZA SHOPPING CENTERMakariou street, Nicosia

For this project contractors were asked toprepare plans and tender and offer to thelandowners a percentage contribution tothis project.

This study / proposal has been prepared incollaboration with the architect. D.Augustineand was a proposal of J & ParaskevaidesLimited company.

Eventually the project was not implementedbecause the successful proposals had a 2%higher contribution than the J & P. Ltd offer.

This 25 storey building involves residentialcomplex of 210 apartments and a total area of31000sq which includes 4 floors for 240 parkingspaces, shared multipurpose areas, swimmingpools, spa, Jacuzzi, gymnasium, cafeteria, etc.Plans were prepared in collaboration with an office in Bahrain.

SAINT CHRISTOFOROS FOUNDATION For mental retarded person

The project involved the construction of institutionsfor mentally trailing individuals who are at anadvanced age. The Foundation is built beneath thehill of Christos Steliou Ioannou Foundation andconsists of eight building complexes consisting ofliving spaces, as well as the central managementbuilding and offices.

•The entire complex has been formed to give itsresidents a sense of family warmth and protection.

Due to the nature of the project, special design wasimplemented for people with disabilities as well asprovisions for people who will eventually becontinuously bedridden or in wheelchairs that willneed nursing care.

The project involved the complete renovation ofall guestrooms and public spaces the creation ofconference rooms and spa. Full details have beenprepared as far as decoration and equipmentwere concerned. Responsibility of the interiordesigners was also the choice of all furniture,fabrics, flooring, colors, materials, as well astender preparation.
