PERSONAL INFO
Since young age I was already busy with protoyping. Sket-ching and making practical stuff in our workspace. Besides designing, I’m a quite sportive person, since few years I practice cycling which really helps me in the design process.

SCHADOW ILLUSION
Project nameSchadow illusion
ConceptThe head made out PU foam is a quarter sphere. One side ape, on the other side human face. By turning the prototype over 90 degrees, the shadow shows the gradual transition from ape to human, therefore this concept is called ‘The evolution in 90 degrees’. The head can smoothly be rotated with the appropriate wheel.

WEARABLE SENSORS
“The Seeing eye glasses is an aid for the visual impaired to find their way without the use of an assistance dog which makes the user more independent.”
The components that are used are earphones, a button, a 3D camera into the glasses, vibrating sensors into a belt and a battery and GPS unit that is integrated into the buckle of the belt. The 3D-camera detects obstacles and sends vibrations to the location in the belt that matches the area of that obstacle. The sensor communicates with a central unit integrated into a belt.

LILLE DESIGN FOR CHANGE
With this project, we joined a contest organised by Lille Métropole. They wanted to develope the future of the city and asked several design schools all over the world to think about ideas to improve life in the region of Lille. With our project, we want to remember Lille’s history, but also look at the future of the city. Literally look, with the product we made you will be able to see what activities will be operational in the city, you will see how the city looks like witin 5 to 10 years.
HOW TO JOIN?This project would be intergated in a museum activity.People who want to see Lille’s history or future, have to go to the museum La Tossée in L’Union. There, you can rent a viewer with a smartphone inside who will guide you in the city following the RARA’s landmarks. When looking through the viewer, you get a 3D image of how it will look like in the future, you can even ask for historical infor-mation.

Project nameNew folding bike concept
ConceptWith this new concept we tackled problems of todays folding bikes. Bigger wheels ensure smooth riding without getting much bigger when folded. The clever folding technique provides fast folding and unfolding of the bike which can be done without much effort. DateMay 2014

DOG LEASH SYSTEM
Project nameLeash system for assistance dogs
ConceptMany disabled people are not able to put on the leash of their assistance dog, because of poor hand functi-on due to for example spasticity. This system helps those people, the dog attaches and detaches himself to the wheelchair without any help is needed. We made an instructable, so you can make is yourself!

Project nameReduce foodwaste
Concept1/3rd of all produced food on earth is not eaten, large amounts are wasted due to inefficience of the system. Foodwaste is a global issue that has to be countered fast, we can start reducing foodwaste with looking at ourself because a lot of food is wasted by the consumers themselves. In flanders, bread is the most wasted product, we analyzed the total food cycle of bread from production, over distribution to consumption and we found out that bread is most wasted at the end of the cycle. The limited shelflife of bread and different preferences of familiy members lead to bread slices disappearing in the dustbin. We came up with a ceramic bread box which extends the bread life from 3 to 5 days, consumers can now finish their bread before it dries out. A two compartments system allows families to store one part of the bread untouched for an optimal conservation.

In the game, the players had to stop their ‘moon vehicle’ on the luminiscent spots taking into account a delay of 2,6 seconds owing to the limited speed of light. To accomplish the mission they had to anticipate and decide in advance when pushing the stop-button of the vehicle.

Project nameSmall Business Project
ConceptWhy buy expensive stuff while you can make it yourself? With this thought of the ‘Maker Movement’ we started the company ‘Moldi’, fully based on casting techniques. The product we developed is a mold in-tended to cast connections to make small furniture like bookcases, shelves, etc.The business plan proves people would save a lot of money compared to buying all stuff in a DIY shop. Furtermore, people have fun making it them-self and are able to personalize their furniture.More info about the company can be found in the business plan.
