YCN PEACOCKS COLLABORATIVE BRIEFScreen based outcomes

Objective To expand Peacocks’ customer base and enhance fashion credentials to appeal to a younger audience.

ResolutionWe have created a well needed improvement in the advertisements of Peacocks. With the recent take-over of the company we believe this is our opportunity to create a buzz to increase brand awareness to the target audience.

CountdownThe countdown is for the re-launch of the website and the brand’s new identity. It will be displayed on the Peacocks website, which is currently unavailable, with no sign of when it will come back.

YCN PEACOCKS COLLABORATIVE BRIEFPrint based outcomes

The EventOur advertising campaign is focused around the Peacocks re-launch party, where the new summer range by Pearl Lowe will be unveiled, and modelled on the catwalk by Pearl’s daughters Daisy and Betty Lowe.

InvitationThis invitation will be sent to fashion magazines and celebrities, so it is elegant and stylish to capture the attention of the recipient. The sleeve has been die cut on to 280 GSM card, and the invitation inside has been duplexed with the same card and black stock of equal weight behind it.

Clothing LabelsAs with the invite, the labels for the clothing have been die cut and duplexed, with the existing logo, in a simplified version. These reiterate the new tone of voice for Peacocks, with a simple aesthetic.

What is good?Promoting Guinness through print

ObjectiveTo idenitfy something good within a product and to promote this through print. This module was particularly interesting due to print visits and a more professional understanding of working with printers.

ResolutionPromoting the health benefits and informing the truths behinds the myths, for example how many calories it contains. The outcomes concentrated on the strength of these facts due to the labels, posters, book and beer mats being typographically based.

The Range By creating a range of products it allowed the project to grow and gain in authenticity.

What is good?Promoting Guinness through print

ContextBy mocking up the poster it allowed an understandig with regards to the target audience and how it would be perceived

and viewed.

Tone of voiceDespite the serious tenor created by this re-brand, probably due to it being health based, there is a satirical humour found with the use of asterisks.

Collaboration outside BA Graphic Design

The ObjectivePromote an event in Leeds that combines both music and photography through the most appropriate outcomes and to work with a client and creative.

The Background I met Joshua in first year and took an instant interest in his photography, especially his use of double exposure. This project was, however, a little different. “DOUBLE DIP” was a book that he produced that reflects the effect of the current economic crisis through capturing images ofSlough.

The EventJosh wanted to combine his two passions, music and photography and we organised a collaboration for the promotional materical for the night at Musicquarium.

The PosterAn effective use of a typographic heirachy as it was important to decide the most important pieces of information we wanted to communicate.

The Sticker In Leeds, stickers are used to create a buzz about events, with minimal information but high impact this was something that Josh wanted to use.

Identity and Branding

Objective To create a consistency for my own branding with particular focus on business cards, stationary and blog logos.

Business CardThis was the most important starting point for me and was also a great opportunity to start to experiment with tecniques I hadn’t yet tried, for example screen printing and foiling.
