STATEMENT OF PURPOSE OF THE PORTFOLIO
This practice teaching portfolio was prepared and developed to provide and
share experiences for those who will undergo the same undertakings. Some
classroom difficulties and problems that she had encountered are mentioned, and
the lesson she had learned. The greatest value of this practice teaching portfolio is
that it serves as the mirror of the practice teacher for their progress and
achievement in their practice teaching. And also this practice teaching portfolio
was prepared to expose the pre-service teaching experiences so that they can use it
in relating their theories learned inside the classroom to become globally
competitive.
Another purpose of this practice teaching portfolio is that it assess the pre-
service teacher’s learning for the preparation in future life in facing the real world
of teaching. The pre-service teacher must do always their best in imparting
knowledge to the students. Just love your students so in return your students will
be embracing you too, with the great things you’ve done to them not only in
cognitive side but in affective side and psychomotor development.
PRAYER OF PRE-SERVICE TEACHERS
Oh Lord, please help me to be a fine teacher, to keep peace in the
classroom, peace between my students and myself, to be kind and gentle
to each and every one of my students.
Help me to be merciful to y students, to balance mercy and discipline in
the right measure for each student, to give genuine praise as much as
possible, to give constructive criticism in manner that is patatable to my
students.
Help me remain conscientious enough to keep my lessons always
interesting, to recognize what motivates each of my students, to accept
my student’s limitations and not hold it against them.
Help me not to judge my students too harshly, to be fair to all, to be a
good role model, but most of all Lord, help me to show your love to all of
my students.
AMEN.
TEACHER’S CREED
I believe I have been called by God to teach.
I believe in blackboards, chalk dust, textbooks, and computers for each
have a part in imparting knowledge.
I believe the love I give to my students will someday be reflected in their
lives.
I believe the gift of teaching is not measured simply by marks,
enrollment, or the end of the school year.
I believe I have the power to lead those in need of learning to the
threshold of their own minds.
I believe teaching is more than tests, diplomas, paperwork, and
fundraising.
It is in the faith I share in Jesus...ever changing and growing...never
ending.
I believe my success today goes unnoticed...until those I teach and touch
can stand alone and say "in my life I have learned..."
I believe if I have taught and touched one person, in God's name, I have
used my gift to me justly, and can humbly say. . .
I believe in teaching. . .
I AM A TEACHER!!
PERSONAL EDUCATION PHILOSOPHY
I believe that education is an individual, unique experience for every student
who enters a classroom. In order for children to benefit from what schools offer, I
think that teachers must fully understand the importance of their job. I believe that
teachers must consider teaching to be a lifestyle, not a mere forty-hour-a-week job,
because a teacher's goals for his/her students encompass much more than relaying
out-of-context facts to passive students.
As professionals entrusted with the education of young minds, teachers must
facilitate learning and growth academically, personally, and ethically. By
providing a quality education to each individual in one's classroom, a teacher
equips children with the tools necessary for success in life.
Helping students to develop a deep love and respect for themselves, others,
and their environment occurs through an open sharing of ideas and a judicious
approach to discipline. When the voice of each student is heard, and environment
evolves where students feel free to express themselves. Class meetings are one way
to encourage such dialogue. I believe children have greater respect for their
teachers, their peers, and the lessons presented when they feel safe and sure of
what is expected of them. In setting fair and consistent rules initially and stating
the importance of every activity, students are shown respect for their presence and
time. In turn they learn to respect themselves, others, and their environment.
For myself, teaching provides an opportunity for continual learning and
growth. One of my hopes as an educator is to instill a love of learning in my
students, as I share my own passion for learning with them. I feel there is a need
for compassionate, strong, and dedicated individuals who are excited about
working with children. In our competitive society it is important for students to not
only receive a solid education, but to work with someone who is aware of and
sensitive to their individual needs. I am such a person and will always strive to be
the best educator that I can be.

PERSONAL INSIGHTS ON THE PRE-SERVICE TRAINING
EXPERIENCE
Student teaching is the actual teaching and our major role and responsibility.
After three months of observing, I learned many things about teaching. It is not
about how educated you are but it is about how you appreciate every single student
that you may have encounter.
At first, I thought that teaching is easy as it is. But as time goes by, while I am
learning continuously, I appreciate that teaching is not about your career, but
teaching is about touching your student’s lives that people may not even know.
Learn to value your students and always appreciate their efforts even if it is big or
small.
Teachers must inspire each and every one of their student. It’s not a job or career
but a passion that may inspire students little minds.
MISSION:
San Jose National High School aims to provide a quality education for the students'
holistic development enhanced by well competitive, committed teachers and
effective administrators.
VISION:
San Jose National High School be the center of academic excellence producing
nationalistic, globally competitive and productive citizens.
