Living for 6 years Learning in architecturaL worLd has opened me to many obstacLe, despite i counter everything and make it as my opportunity to gain new experience. i compLeted my work by carrying out based in varies references, which i prefer more to the ideoLogy in tropicaL & organic design.
i’m bringing minimaList and dominant scaLe structure and nature together for having a caLm and humbLe design yet with powerfuL image as i’m refering to super-architect such as kenzo tange, ken yeang, tadao ando, kevin mark Lo, and the famous Landscape architect from maLaysia, ng seksan.
i Love photography and its part of my Life. i tend to do it as a hobby, i created my digitaL portfoLio in various website. to be working and Learning architecturaL photography for the past six months, it teached me to appreciate more toward architect’s work. the worLd is a schooL for me, and i’m stiLL coLLecting magnificient knowLedge for better future.

It was created to accommodate a designated area for the elderly to cultivate and produce organic products, plant-based and results can be sale to the public or, for their own use.Besides that, and also as a result of farming activity, it will geared towards a strong social activity between neighbors, it will also strengthen the relationship between them.
Jelatek area was also known as a Malay district and preserved only by Malays. It richfullness towards diversity is a major attraction.
THE RONGGA HOUSING
Choosing Urban Malay Enclave as my topic because, I am trying to gather up all the malay in the urban city andkeeping the strength in the community by creating spaces that will make them feel secure and like to be in a community.Apart from that the second important issue is that the community especially aging folks has no place to do gardening or farming near their house.

Spaces in the Malay house are multifunctional. The use of spaces changes at different times of the day and year. There are minimal partitions or interior walls in the house, allowing for the flexibility use of space and for goods ventilation and lighting of the interiors. Minimal furniture is used and most activities are done on the floor. The ScenarioDato’ Keramat Kuala Lumpur located not far from the center of Kuala Lumpur was formally known as the “Kawasan Simpanan Melayu” whereby during the 1980’s the government has reinstated that the area of Keramat was only for Malays residential area. Since then the area of Keramat has developed and shift into several of residential area. Until now, the Keramat area has developed into mostly of Malays’ residents. However the area has become packed with housing but less in green and farming sector. The problem found that the area has zero in green environment. Based on the Dr. Dickson Despommier, a researcher from the Environmental Health Science in Columbia University stated that by the year 2050, nearly 80 % of the earth’s population will reside in urban center. The human population will increase by 3 billion people during the interim. An estimated 109 hectares of new land (about 20 % of more land than is represented by the country of Brazil) will be needed to grow enough food to feed them, if traditional farming practices continue as they practiced today. It was found that 80% of the land that is suitable for raising crops is in use. My intention came in when I found that most of the Keramat area has zero area in harvesting crops. Most of the elderly were only have an area to harvest only in vast or small area in front of their house. This came the idea to accommodate a designated area for the elderly to cultivate and produce organic products, plant-based and results can be sale to the public or, for their own use. Besides that, and also as a result of farming activity, it will gear towards a strong social activity between neighbors; it will also strengthen the relationship between them.
THE SCENARIO
COMPILATION OF ARCHITECTURAL DESIGN PROJECTS BSc. ARCHITECTURE | AZRI AZAHAR
My rationale came from the problem found on site where most of the areas have lack in green onlay. As for that I’ve decided to accommodate my design with the Harvest Capsule where the inhabitants have the opportunity harvest and farming their own crops and use it as their daily fare. The proposed land fills with green area suitable for harvesting such as herbs or for planting flowers. The idea has similar to what happened in Seattle where they have a community garden called the P-Patch. The Seattle Department of Neighborhoods P-Patch Community Gardening Program accommodates their community with lands for growing crops or gardening plants. In my design the intention focused on the gathering places that strengthen the networks through cooperative venture; a source of prides among residents; a visible product of land stewardship and a healthier urban environment. For the housing unit itself, I’ve designed it based on my understanding on the ornamentation and arrangement of traditional Malay dwelling. It was found that most of the Keramat areas compacted with Malays residential. They lived with strong Malay customs and culture. To be concluding, I choose Urban Malay Enclave as my topic because, I’m trying to gather up all the Malay (and not forgetting most of them are elderly) in the Keramat urban area and try to strengthen the community by creating spaces that will make them feel secure and like to be in a community. Apart from that the second important issue is that the community especially aging folk have no place to do gardening or farming near their house. My idea is to implement the agriculture inside the housing project and to revive the Malay pack into a strong community.

. A community garden is a space where neighbors come together to grow community and steward - plan, plant, and maintain –a piece of open space. Community gardens are gathering places that strengthen networks through cooperative ventures; a source of pride among residents; a visible product of land stewardship and a healthier urban environment. Traditionally, they involve individual gardening plots which community members pay an annual fee for while all shared spaces throughout the garden are cared for together.

speaking about Vertical Agriculture“Vertical Farming”, to coin a name, is the keynote of a new agriculture that has come to stay, for inexpensive explosives enable the farmer to farm deeper, to go down to increase area, and to secure larger crops. Instead of spreading out over more land he concentrates on less land and becomes an intensive rather than an extensive agriculturist, and soon learns that it is more prof-itable to double the depth of his fertile land than to double the area of his holdings, and he learns that his best aid and servant in this work is a good explosive. HARVEST AGRICULTURE CAPSULE :HARVEST CAPSULEFrank Lloyd Wright once said, “A doctor
can bury his mistakes, but an architect can only advise his clients to plant vines.” It turns out that his suggestion is also a good idea for creating handsome buildings. And who wants to hide an investment in green away on the roof when you can hang it out for everyone to see?
Vertical gardens reduce cooling loads in summer by shading buildings; this “blanket effect” also cuts heating loads under high hot temperature, with the green layer acting as extra insulation. As the plants grow, they trap carbon dioxide and produce oxygen, and soak up such pollutants as lead and cadmium. Green walls absorb noise; help reduce the heat island effect, keeping cities cooler; and provide a habitat or insects and spiders, which in turn feed birds and bats. And, as Wright noted, these interventions can hide a lot of ugly buildings.

COMPILATION OF ARCHITECTURAL DESIGN PROJECTS BSc. ARCHITECTURE | AZRI AZAHAR
Vertical farming is a concept that argues that it is economically and environmentally viable to cultivate plant or animal life within skyscrapers, or on vertically inclined surfaces. The idea of a vertical farm has existed at least since the early 1950s
Irrespective of their origins, there are three classifications debated by contemporary scholars.
The phrase “vertical farming” was coined by Gilbert Ellis Bailey in 1915. In his book “Vertical Farming”, Bailey defined the earliest meanings and methods of vertical farming:
The second category of vertical farming falls under the concepts proposed and built by architect Ken Yeang developed at least ten years before Despommier. Yeang proposes that instead of hermetically sealed mass produced agriculture that plant life should be cultivated within open air, mixed-use skyscrapers for climate control and consumption (i.e. a personal or communal planting space as per the needs of the individual). This version of vertical farming is based upon personal or community use rather than the wholesale production and distribution plant and animal life that aspires to feed an entire city. It thus requires less of an initial investment than Despommier’s “The Vertical Farm”. However, neither Despommier nor Yeang are the conceptual “originators”, nor is Yeang the inventor of vertical farming in skyscrapers.
“Vertical Farming”, to coin a name, is the keynote of a new agriculture that has come to stay, for inexpensive explosives enable the farmer to farm deeper, to go down to increase area, and to secure larger crops. Instead of spreading out over more land he concentrates on less land and becomes an intensive rather than an extensive agriculturist, and soon learns that it is more profitable to double the depth of his fertile land than to double the area of his holdings, and he learns that his best aid and servant in this work is a good explosive. Peace congresses demand that swords be turned into pruning hooks. The farmer is busy turning explosives from war to agriculture, from death dealing to life giving work.
