NACRO ANNUAL REPORT

Annual Report for Nacro, a non-profit organization dedicated to reducing crime. Nacro works with the community and provides skills, advice, and support to keep people out of crime.



NATIONAL INFANT IMMUNIZATION WEEK

D I M E N S I O N A L / I L L U S T R A T I O N

Promotional Kit to inform parents on the importance of immunizing their children. The kit comes with a comic book, paper dolls, and convertible packaging that turns into a play area for the paper dolls. The characters in the book are made to be friendly and appealing to all ages.

Caught in a Lie is an exhibition design that concentrates on the polygraph machine. The polygraph machine is a lie detector commonly used for interrogations. The exhibit wall also includes information pamphlets that go into further detail explaining the polygraph machine and show famous lies that have been told throughout history.


ALPHABET COASTERS

D I M E N S I O N A L

Coaster set focusing on the relationship between retail companies and their use of typography in branding. The set comes with 26 coasters, a case, and an information booklet. The booklet describes the typefaces that are used for each coaster.


VIS ION IN T IME

D I G I T A L

When the day starts, the anticipation quickly rises. There are distorted figures, and unknown shadows all around. Yearning to see, fingers reach for the contact lenses that are like radiating night-lights ready to bring clarity into the blanket of darkness. Eyes wait impatiently, blinking with noticeable excitement.

Vision in Time is an animation showing the daily activity of putting on contact lenses.


RAMADAN LEGACY APP

D I G I T A L

App design and branding for Ramadan Legacy, the World’s First Fully Featured App for Ramadan. The App is used as a productivity tool for keeping track of an individual’s progress each Ramadan. With an easy to navigate design the user can record acts of worship like days fasted, daily prayers, and reading of the Qur’an.


SEEDAGAMI


A project promoting environmental sustainability through cycling and recycling. It consists of four bike trailers that raise awareness on sustainability and provide DIY pubilc participation. One of the bike trailers is Seedagami, an origami making station that uses recycled seed paper.

Brand identity & marketing collateral for Luminoor, a digital agency that serves commercial companies, start-ups and philanthropic projects.


RAMADAN ACTION PLAN 2014

Ramadan Action Plan is a productivity tool for individuals to enhance their Ramadan experience. The booklet has an easy to use and engaging layout where progress for each day of Ramadan can be recorded.

Continuous power outages have become a growing problem in Pakistan. The goal of this website is to raise awareness and urge people to take action to conserve energy. The website uses story-like illustrations to make the user experience more personal.


BAUHAUS STATEMENT P IECE


During the years of 1925 and 1930, a series of fourteen Bauhaus books were published. It was a time where abstract avant-garde design was promoted. That is emphasized in the piece through its modernistic shape and geometric typography. The books are the main focus of the piece, and are displayed on shelves.


VERNACULAR K IT

P R I N T

An information kit on Vernacular Design that contains a CD, poster, and information cards. The main focus of the kit is on vernacular design found in French café signage. This is shown through its use of expressive ornamental typography and a menu like display.

RAMADAN LEGACY BRANDING

Branding for Ramadan Legacy, the World’s First Fully Featured App for Ramadan. The App is used as a productivity tool for keeping track of an individual’s progress each Ramadan. The branding was inspired by the concept of time and the importance Ramadan places in making the most of each day to increase in good deeds and self-growth.



MFA THESIS EXHIBIT ION

P R I N T

An identity for University of Houston’s Master of Fine Arts Thesis Exhibition. The components include a poster, banner, catalogue, postcard and exhibition wall. Lines and planes are used to reference studio production. The exaggerated typographic forms expand upwards to reinforce the candidates’ movement beyond the studio toward productive careers.


IMMUNIZATION APP & RECORD

P R I N T / A P P

The App and record were done for the Records for Life Contest held by the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation. The goal was to create a card that the medical personnel and parents could easily understand and that could be adapted to the App. To do this, bright colors are used to highlight important dates, and for easy reading. A protective sleeve cover is used to place the card in for durability.


AMAZON RAINFOREST

A P P

The Amazon Rainforest App is an interactive adventure game aimed at children. In the game the player explores the rainforest to collect cards. Each time they collect a card they learn a new fact about the rainforest. The goal of the game is to collect as many cards and complete all quests. The game is meant to be an educational and entertaining experience.


RE(CYCLE) HUB


A collaborative project promoting environ-mental sustainability through cycling and recycling. It has been funded by the Cynthia Woods Mitchell Center for the Arts. It contains four pedal powered bike stations including art, sound, light, and renewable energy.

BILOONGRA’S MISCHIEF

Biloongra’s Mischief is one of the many books published by Bookgroup for under privileged students in Pakistan. The illustrations were a collaborative effort with illustrators & the team at Biloongra - Books for Change.


TXRX 3D PRINTER

V I D E O

A collaborative project proposed for TXRX Lab’s kickstarter campaign for their 3D printer. TXRX Labs is a non-profit makerspace in Houston. Invenio is a 3D printer and an educational system that will assist teachers with science, technology, engineering and math education for grades 6-12. The animation uses bright colors and simple illustrations to appeal to educators and students.


MIYAZAKI EXHIBIT ION WALL


An exhibit wall that displays the famous works of Hayao Miyazaki. Miyazaki is a well-known Japanese film director and animator. He also co-founded Studio Ghibli. The wall uses curves in its’ structure to match Miyazaki’s organic hand drawings. Bright colors, similar to those found in Miyazaki’s movies, are used to make the viewers feel immersed in the exhibit.
