Solar HomeThis space incorporates influences from Frank Lloyd Wright’s Usonia house. Natural materials would be used to create a more sustainable home. Green methods are incorporated into the design through use of passive solar heating, natural cooling, and radiant floor heating creating a home that is more in tune with nature.

Barry Allen is a DIE HARD comic bookfan. And having the same name as the comic book hero, The Flash, it seems as if it was only in his blood. Barry is an avid comic book collector and prides himself in it. One of his favorite comic book artists is Steve Ditko who worked on Marvel comics. Barry and his family have lived in this home for over 30 years and want to give it a facelift. Both of his children have moved out and started their ownfamilies, so now Barry and his wife, Ellen, live alone in their home. Ellen is very fond of furniture from the 60’s and would like to combine Barry’s comic book love with a contemporary style in their home. They both agree that the home also needs some changes in its design to accommodate Aging in Place.

The aesthetic of this home will reflect Barry’s interests by taking pictures from his comics and mounting them throughout the home. The Contemporary 60’s style will be displayed through the choices in furniture and materials. Changes to accommodate Aging in place will be made throughout the home in order to provide better accessibility for the clients.

This space is themed to emulate a nature-like quality to its design and product choices. Just as nature combines the elements to become one, faulkner design firm combines each depatment in its open office plan.Vast expanses of windows allow the use of daylighting. Stained concrete flooring may also be used as a thermal heating/cooling strategy.

Specific systems furnitures mimick nature in its form creating a mirror-like quality when placed near windows. Pendant light choices are made out of reusable materials. Adequate circulation througout the spaces keeps the office running smoothly.

creating an atmosphere that mixes contemporary with rustic/antique characteristics reflecting new york’s streets. Bonobos colors are instilled in the design to create vibrant accents.

This popup shop was intended to be in the Meat packing District of New York. Material choices

for the shop were chosen with the goal of being green and reusing available resources nearby.

To create a pleasing experience for customers throughout the store by arranging selling zones in complementary adjacencies. Fashion accessories will also be conveniently placed throughout the store to provide convenience in matching/pairing with out"ts.

In order to provide an eclectic and sophisticated design, reclaimed wood pallets are placed throughout the space giving a rustic feel to the space. Contemporary furniture complements the store creating a cozy, inviting, home-like presence in the store. Warm color palettes in the wood pallets and furniture fabrics add to a warmer atmosphere for the shoppers.
