Chefs and dancers have a lot of creativity to offer to the world. Same can be said for a chef and dancer’s loft. As entertainers, this space presents many elements in which to keep their guests occupied both physically and visually and still have their own private world.

compliant masterbathroom.

Be free to move in this personal oasis with walking

space perfect for a couple. Sliding wall panels can

align to showcase a mural of one’s choosing.

Innovative design features a walk-in closet used as a partition between living room and master bedroom.

Oversize couch is spacious and comfortable. A large leather tuft ed ottoman with reversible center compliments its couch counterpart. Great area for having friends over for an exciting and relaxing good time.

Featuring a built in hibachi grill surrounded by seating for twelve. A perfect time for a chef to practice and perfect his skills and ideas.

A high ceiling optimizes for a great view into the lower level.

A lot of seating is planned into the space for many guests to sit, watch, and wait for their children to fi nish class.

A cross bridge on the mezzanine leaves the space open and assists in sliding panels for the master bedroom. A light window sheer connects from bridge to the top of the tall window to get the masters semi-privacy during possible over night guests.

A large wine rack spreads across the wall with a built in wine fridge. Lounge seating for two rests next to the wine so couples may relax, savor the taste of wine, and reminisce about the fi ner things in life.

Th is custom hibachi range keeps the air clean from smoke. What the range collects is release to the outside through safe-air converting ventilation.

Th ough it is just a guest room, only one wall

seperates this space from the rest of the loft , leaving

ample room to breathe and enjoy a stay over

night.

BThis interior bedroom is inspired by the Todaiji Temple in Nara, Japan. Elements which represent the Todaiji Temple consists of bracket work used on the top, bottom, and the dresser handles of the dresser. The bed structure is comprised of a base with resemblance of a hip-gabled roof. Red wooded bed posts, similar to the interior of the Temple, flank the corners of the bed frame and upon the top sits the inspired cornice which is distinctively viewed on the exterior of the Temple. The ceiling mimics the ceiling work from the interior of the Todaiji Temple showing an almost coffered-like design with wooden fretwork. Last, but not least, a lantern rests up against a wall functioning as a miniature table or make-up area.

Sustainable design:

D.D.Commercial:In this advanced course, the design of an upscale, global, corporate interior refl ects the comprehensive synthesis of problem identifi cation, research, programming preliminary design, design development, and construction documents. Problem solving center on the creative and technical aspects involved in the universal design of commercial environments including space planning with code compliance, way- fi nding techniques, and specifying corporate furnishings, fi nishes and materials.

This studio course focuses on environmental issues concerning interior designers and the construction industry. Students participate in discussions on green design topics and learn about resources for improving indoor air quality and more responsible design choices. Following LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) analysis, a fi nal project implements sustainable design methods technically and creatively.

This senior level studio is a study of the materials and fabrication techniques used in the design and construction of interiors and how these details are communicated three-dimensionally and in construction documents. Content includes interior construction detailing of ceilings, wall, fl ooring and millwork. Project solutions will consider the integration of buildings technology such as mechanical, electrical, plumbing and other relevant systems.

A Atlantis, an ancient city lost in time with its enchanted flow of the sea, is imagined to be strongly constructed, and by its mysterious and beautiful design continues to invite even the most curious young minds to its realm. Like the tropical resort of Atlantis in the Bahamas, this pediatrician’s office encompasses the idea of the City of Atlantis as an adventure rather than one of the child’s least favorite places to visit. The design of this space experiences the feeling of the amicable sea breeze, subtle yet relaxing and refreshing. The creative curvature of the hallways move the patients from one location to the other as natural light and an abundance of efficient light fixtures open up each room and pave the way through the halls. Each room is placed to fit harmoniously with functionality. Similar to the pathways of Atlantis in the Bahamas guiding each guest to a new area with ease and trust, the rooms closely connect to other specified rooms to aid in way finding. The placement of doorways compartmentalizes the use of every space. Natural light comes into each office as a welcomed guest. The wide range and unimaginable discoveries of Atlantis paint the walls and floors of this office space with luscious shades of what lies within the lost city and its tropical resort. From the stone structures guarding the lost city, ornate shells fish which inhabit the ocean, to the sandy beaches that surround the Bahamas, nothing goes short of being in awe upon entering this kid friendly doctors office oasis. Materials in this design highlight the health of the green design. This includes water saving equipment such as infrared sensors and a tankless water heater. The electricity calls for money saving ceiling lights, energy saving kitchen appliances, and even an energy saving copier. A high majority of the supplies used for the flooring, walls, and furniture are made from recycled or recyclable materials. The overall design of this pediatricians office space is not just aesthetically pleasing to the eye but also remains true to the healthcare environment and effectiveness to all employees.

C Broaden horizons and ideas with the brain as the creator, the hand as the designer, and the world as the canvas. FREEHAND expresses one’s own desire to be themselves and create a new world of possibilities of graphic design. Upon entering the office to navigating about the office firm, creative curvatures sinuate the halls imitating the free flow of designers as they put pencil to paper. A breath of air overtakes the body as glass walls highlight the open space. Rooms are grouped by each department, such as art, marketing, and sales, to obtain maximum and efficient progress throughout the whole space. Circulation is very important in the design aspect to maintain freedom for any employee or guests to find their way with ease. Space is also highly considered in this firm to exaggerate everyone’s freedom to maneuver and take advantage of the capabilities our open minds have to offer. The complex yet also simplistic make of the human hand stand as the forefront of design for this firm. Flurries of different colors command the overall view of the space. Modern works of art and samples of employee projects highlight FREEHAND’s purpose to strive for individual creativity. A crisp firm structure to every room of the space affirms FREEHAND’s philosophy of a company who work together to achieve a better future in design. An industrial feel compliments the fingerprint the firm is leaving for future generations to come. Accenting the whole office firm are energy and water saving appliances such as Energy Star copy and fax machines and WaterSense plumbing. Greenguard furniture promotes recyclable and recycled materials. Indoor air purification ventilation is installed for great health for everyone. Every floor is of green design with bamboo, rubber floor, Mohawk carpeting for easy cleaning for high traffic areas. FREEHAND poses a look to the future; showing everything that is ahead of us is all in the control of our own hands.

The Big Band heory (The B.B.T.)The Big Band heory

Welcome back to the Dirty 30’s, Fab 40’s, and the Nifty 50’s where Jazz ruled the airwaves and all the ears of our nation. For every guy and gal, the Big Band Theory, or The B.B.T., invites all the swingers to put on their dancing shoes and jump, jive, and wail onto the dance floor as jazz bands light up the stage with the old classics including some new jazz sounds like Michael Buble. Sound waves ring throughout this cafe night club as curves decorate the floor, stage, balconies, and even the stairways. Couple seating dresses the place to invite people to bring that significant other to show off those new dances moves. The bars and booths invite all the singles to mingle. The unique design of this space highlights the bands and the dance floor so everyone knows where to go when its time to swing. Upon entering, the stairs bring a new concept to design making the second floor the main floor with a side access of the elevator. Still having functionality as a key design aspect, the overall layout of the space guide each guest with ease whether it is to the VIP area, blackjack table, dance floor, or even the closest bar. The red carpet sensuates a soothing warm feeling of comfort as a person walks along the floor. Terrazzo and wood panelling create a firm grasp to the overall design decorating the walls, stairs, and countertops. From the second floor, a grandiose view reveals the sound of the bands trumpets blaring; saxophones serenading; the flow of the bass walking down the fret; even the drums laying the rhythm for the toe tappers. Smartstrand carpeting keeps the ground warm and collected so that even the beginner dancing off to the side can practice their moves off the dance floor. Infrared sensors help conserve water from all plumbing fixtures. Since the walls are dressed with recycled wood panelling, no VOC paint was used where guests occupy the space. This cafe night club will bring a new experience to the jazz world and bring the people back to the days where playing music with soul first started.

Gaze into the starry night. But wait, the view is from under water. Watch the twinkle of favorite stars while dining under the sea.

Notice the fall of water spurting atop the roof? Th at’s because jets rush water between two panes of glass surround each private couples room. From there, the water leads to a scenic waterfall over the deck area.

Bamboo post are joined together forming the roof of the coast area with an open area to let the sun shine upon summer savvy customers.

Barely brush the tips of the toes in the light water current passing by over bits of sand as if walking right off the coast of the beach.

Pool side bar with in water seating suits the soothing rush of water with the company of the soon to be favorite bartenders.

C Great promise comes with great civility as a community joins together to share in something amazing. Music, the sound that moves the world, has a partner that helps this cause, dance. Even if one can not dance, it is the music that moves and inspires the mind to create the rhythm we seek in our every day lives whether it is going to work or sitting aimlessly at home. One World One Dance is that stepping stone to help inspire the creativity every person is capable of and to hopefully one day make dreams come true. The vast open and innovative construction of this community dance center will highlight a second story balcony for students, teachers, and peers to dance upon, making a destination route simple to determine before even entering the building. A media center will also be designed within the space for children to assist in after school activities as well as a place for adults to rest as their children attend dance lessons. Another element that will be incorporated in the design is the two main large high vaulted dance studios that can also be combined for dance camps as well as another assist to after school entertainment. It may also function as a location for large parties such as debuts or birthday celebrations. The direction of this space will be designed centrally to make wayfinding easy from one room to the other. An elevator will be used as a convenience in access to the second floor aside from the stairs. Using few hallways will impose a simple mode of direction as to not confuse even the newest member to this community. From a design aspect, this community dance center will pay homage to the roots of our heretage by means of the cultural dances and the meaning behind each as well as the pride we hold in our present day dance community. The space will also utilize the open air by spacious dance studios with walls that open up to the outside. An open air concept will be showcased as glass windows express the freedom to look into the sky and reach for one’s own dreams and aspirations. Although culture is evidently important, the future is still among us and will be expressed as such within the dance community as to create new and innovative ideas. Thinking green will guide the space with energy saving utilities such as bathroom equipment and any form of electricity used such as audio equipment and televisions. Being in a humid and hot environment, air quality will be greatly incorporated in th design for the comfort of our friends and family. It is the modern world of society. Dancers should help in the cause for a brighter future, bringing comfort in one’s self to be able to express themselves as freely as humanly possible.
