How the parti came from? it came from my concept collage. using different ele-ments of music , water waves and a slight indication of a octopus.

My Parti

Our assignment was to create a concept college for our parti or theme in our build-ing. My concepts comes from my theme for the hotel which is Aquarium and music.

I came up with this concept with the effects of music interpreted into more of a aquarium theme in such that music can be shown as different things or movements and in this case i use water effects such as water waves, water ripples and combine them with sea creature you might or might not see in the aquarium such as turtles, penguins, octopus, or eel.

So what i did is that i basically added them to create effects. Some might be more clearer then others such as the turtle shell in the upper left corner changing into a water wave (which is the blue image below the turtle shell), or the water ripple creat-ing a turtle reflection (which is the image on the left middle part) while combining it with the water wave, and theirs also the octopus with the weird patterns which can be interpreted like sound waves were its all curvy motion leading to the circular motion of the water in the top image.

Development

After thinking about it for a while, and realizing what i wanted to do with my concept. i came up with using, the elements of music, and waves. This parti comes mostly from my concept collage. where i interpreted music as in a sense of sound waves to water waves and octopus tentacles. So what I'm thinking about is incorporating different elements of my concept collage into my building and try to figure out the massing of the building into something that works both inside and out.

Parti

This project was about preserving the area while also adding your ideas into it.We visit a warehouse located in warehouse, in other for us to come up with a parti. So we created a collage ( shown in the left) that shows our impression of the site, my words were old, corroded yet more calm and peaceful. My parti was this never ending hallway that seems to be repetitive all the way to the end were a window is in the middle and you see that calm, beautiful sound of waves and the sun setting.

The objective of this project was to create a hybrid building that consists of a dormitory area for city tech students , a gallery space and a residential space for occupants.

My idea was to was obviously to separate each space. For the dormitory i want to create a big living space for each student were they can hang out , get to know each other, while creating private areas for each students for their rooms, study areas.

For the Residential area i wanted each occupant to have two floors that they can occupy, the first floor would be more about a social area such as the living room, while the second floor would be the private areas that includes the bedrooms, bathrooms and bal-conies.

This project was about creating an interior space, which four people that can interact or do some-thing.My idea was about music, so what we had to do was create a collage about what music means to you and then create little parti models.

What i tried to represent in the model was sound waves and i use different color of lent to represent the motions of music of how each vibes are differ-ent. I use drafting tape to position the movement at a certain point.(as you can see from the model and sketch in the right)

My Parti/ Sketch Model

As you can see from my sketch , i made spaces were the voided areas was, each having their own form of privacy that sets different moods and any individual will-ing to relax.i use a blue tone color, simply because i feel that’s a color that can create a more

relaxing and more approachable environment that people can enjoy.

Orthographic Hand Drawings

This project begins all the way from the beginning, when i first started architecture in City Tech,What we basically did was create three little models that only uses two types of materials, one was a bass wood, and cardboard.Once those were done we had to hand drawn the model and then create plans ,elevation and orthographic hand drawings from the newer model that combines elements from the smaller models
