I am truly dedicated to the universe of design,
my aim is to develop and invent optimized
solutions combining functional usability and
design. As a fourth year industrial design
student, currently studying at Elisava (Escola
Superior de Disseny i Enginyeria) in Barcelona
I have the opportunity to improve the skills and
tools I feel is required of an industrial designer.
Originally from norway, I find inspiration in
natural elements, textures and shapes. Yet
at the same moment I thrive from the new
experience and challenges of living in a vibrant
city in Spain: Learning another language,
discovering new trends and tuning into a
different environment. I believe being flexible,
intuitive and open minded is important factors
in becoming a bona fide industrial designer.

From time to time we need plumbers, electricians and carpenters to do various small jobs around the house. But why do they always have to leave such a mess? Small pieces of sawdust, wire clippings, bits of tape and stuff. How is it they never clean up afterwards? Can it be that they don’t have the right tools for the job?

Shape Detailing Materials
The power tools have an overall morphology where the ellipse is a key element. There are few sharp transitions and corners.
As a contrast to the organinc shape there are added facets to get a thighter look and highlight the features.
In areas of high stress there are metal. The body is made of hard plastic. For better grip on swiches and handles there are soft rubber.

The solution and the product is strongly inspired by childhood memories when being out in the forest and resting in the small typical shelter called «Gapahuk». Protected from wind and snow sitting beside a warming camp fire was both a contemplative and intense moment. My lamp brings back the feeling from the «Gapahuk», and my intention is to implement the mood from the forest into our urban living.

Target User. The «Gapahuk Lamp» is aimed at students and young people who need to take a break from the stressed everyday life. The lamp is a shelter from the hectic and chaotic.
LED lights. offer a lot of new possibilities for lighting. The core argument for using LED is the lifetime duration.
Intention. Due to the few limitations, I decided to develop the lamp for lighting up dark corners and contribute to create a relaxing environment.

Functions. The frosted plexiglass front and back panels spread the light evenly and hides the diodes, preventing the lamp to stand out mostly as a «mechanical/technological» device.

Theese objects show with their form semantics that they contain different substances, but at the same time it is clear that they belong together as a set. The challange lies in creating forms which have a geometric- linear to fluid organic morphology and still retain a fundamental simplicity in concideration of the manufacturing paremeters.

Form. The shape is inspired by leaves. There is a continuous sweep around the outer edge of the different objects, at the same time they all have different curves on the top, that drops in height in the order of what purpose they serve. Oil is the tallest, while pepper is the smaller. Production. Production. The material is plastic, for durability and easy maintenance. These shapes are best suited for injection molding, which is quite inexpensive when produced in in large quantities. With injection molding the parts are made by injecting thermoplastic into a mold.

The idea behind this chair is based on strong geometric lines and clean scandinavian design. The frame is dark and a big contrast to the light birch, but because of this, when placed i natural surroundings it may appear as if the wood is actually floating in thin air. Or as we say in norwegian “flyter”.

Concept. The task for this project it to model folding chairs and a table for outdoor use which is customized for norwegian climate and production.
Materials. Birch is one of the most common wood species in Norway and easaly available for production. The frame is made from steel profiles which is also produced in Norway, and paint coated to avoid rust.

Idea. The chair is a Parallelogram. With just one movement it goes from a flat pack chair and into it’s full upright position.
The table can be turned around and used as storage for up to four chairs. The handle is held in place by friction from the tree, but can be pulled out when the chairs are to be transported.

The planet Mars. Red and bright, filling our telescopes with vague intimations of almost familiar landforms, has long formed a celestial blank slate on which we have inscribed many logical yet maybe unattainable theories, utopian fantasies, and fears of alien invasion or ecological ruin. Time to explore.

The robotic arm. The mission is to create two March vehicles for the Norwegian TV-channel NRK. They will follow the entire process until the vehicles compete against each other in a live broadcast from a course built after the spesifications as seen above.

The robotic arm. The task our group faced was to develop and create the robotic arm and gripper located on top of the mars vehicle.
Arm. The arm can be laid back while the vehicle is moving so that the center of gravity will be most beneficial for mobility.
Gripper. The principle of the robotic arm is based on the idea of a paris wheel, where the baskets are always parallell to the ground. This is important in order to take a picture of the underside of the stone with the camera placed on the vehicle.

Good grip with a lot of friction.
Can grab the stone both from the side and from above.
Can lift small objects since the claw moves into its own contruction.

The wire is attached to a servo which draws in the wire and close the claw, when released the spring will help to pull it back to it’s initial open position.
Analysis. We used a pump to spray citric acid on the three stones. The “right“ stone contained sodium. We could then see the the foam from the chemichal reaction and pick up the stone.
Camera. To verify that we had picked the right stone we used a GoPro camera to livestream the picktures of the stone.

Arduino. Suitable for programming servoes and small electronics because of the 5V output. Size, USB-devices, open source code and many connectivity options.

This application is meant to be a substitution for your lift ticket, in this way the user won’t have to take care of many different lift passes. We also want to implement important information as hours of operation, number of lifts open, prices, piste maps directly into the application.

Weather and conditions. Before a day on the slopes, you are often interested in knowing what the conditions are, so you can avoid taking a wasted journey should the weather be bad.
Keycards. Forgetting your keycard at home can quickly become an expensive affair. Different resorts have different cards, and charge a considerable amount for new cards in addition to the daily rate.
Where am I? In the mountains, it is easy to run away, or lose track of your friends.
USER INSIGHTS

Layout. We have based our layout Appels iOS Human Interface Guidelines. By using known conventions to sort information, buttons and icons, the user can take the application to use without having to acquire new knowledge.
Text. It is important to have a font with good readability and that’s very clear we have chosen to use system font for Apple which has the maximum readability on the basis iOS Human Interface Guidelines.
Colour. We have chosen to have two consistent colors in various gradients to get a coherent and easily recognizable expression. It is a gray color that is easy to work with as a background color and a turquoise blue that is sporty and reflects that it is a winter application.

Lift pass. This is the page where you can buy new lift passes, update and keep track of your existing card and expiration.
My Profile. The user profile with statistics on trips, high score compared with friends and access to friends profiles.
Mountain.”Is a track map where in addition to an overview of all the facilities you also have the possibility to see where your friends are.

Mealtime has always been an arena for social interaction and relationships between people. Since we spend less and less time at home, we are likely to lose sensory and social experiences related to the activities of cooking. So how can we use light to create an interaction between people, the meal and the joy of exquisite food? And how can light make the kitchen a framework for real and social experiences that stimulate our senses?

Kitchen Concept. The contemporary standard kitchen lighting is either an intense work light that shines directly on work surfaces or a ceiling light that shines up the entire room.
My Concept. A guiding light, will create an atmosphere in accordance to the individual preferences demanded by the user. I believe this would lower the bar for people who are unfamiliar with cooking to spend more time in the kitchen.

Tap Tap. The light is controlled primarily through a smartphone or computer. But it is also possible to turn it on by double-tapping the surface you wish to be lit.
The Stone. The stone is made of rubber mixed with strontium aluminate which allows it to transfer the color from the light and glow by itself. It can easily be interacted with by removing it from the lamp.

Hot pot synchronizes with the timer by switching to a red colored light the moment the food is ready.
The Garden light has a frequency that stimulates plant growth and are excellent for growing herbs on the kitchen counter.
UV clean is used when cleaning in order to highlight dirty stains and spots which can not be seen by the naked eye.
Daylight is not an inevitable vreality for people in urban areas where a brick wall might be their only view.
What Mood do you want to be in? Are you tired after a long day at work or are you having your sweetheart over for a romantic dinner? The guiding light adapts to your needs.
Mobile App. The light can be operated from an application on your smart phone. This allows you to turn the lights on and off in addition to choosing the color and intensity of the light.
Emotional Connection. The individual customization makes it possible to generate unique combinations of light. It also enables the possibility to create a personal expression at the users demand.
A motion sensitive work-light. Guiding light follows your movement and dims when you move away.

Individual project Graphic Design Project I3 weeks
The main objectives for this assignemnt is to make use of a visual language to represent the three concepts aimed at four different target groups who differ from each other by age. Children, youth, adults and seniors. For me it’s important to make use of the emotional connection the different age groups have to these concepts. What we precieve are based on experience and level of understanding abstract concepts.

Nidarosdomen Is a cathedral located in the city of Trondheim.Built over the burial site of Saint Olaf, the king of Norway in the 11th century, who became the patron saint of the nation. It was built from 1070 to 1300. It is the northernmost medieval church in the world.
Mustache. Trondheim is refered to as “The Mustache” city. Where it originates from I don’t really know, but it is a big part of their identity and important as a counterculture for “trøndere”. In 2011 they also hosted the world mustache championship.
Talerøret. In conjunction with hundred-year anniversary of NTNU (the norwegian university of science and technology) in september 2012, architect studient at the university has designed an 80-meter long “talerør” as a gift to Trondheim city. “talerør” translates loosely to megaphone.
CHILDREN
Requirements.Choose a city and three concepts. Apply a visual language that corresponds to each target group to portray the different concepts.
The postcards need to be either horizontal OR vertical.
The visual language is made up of illustrations and graphic objects. You are not allowed to make use of text/typographic objects or uedited photographs.

Oslo Student Conference in Sports Medicine
OSCSM is an annual collaboration between medical students, physiotherapy students and students from NIH. Every year a conference in sports medicine. The logo was used on all printed material for the conference and web.
Marin Ungdom Trondheim is a group of guys in located in Trondheim with a fondness for sailing and party.
