KRION® is a new-generation solid surface developed by Systempool, a company that is a part of the Porcelanosa Group.

It is a material that is warm to the touch and similar to natural stone. It consists of two-thirds natural minerals (ATH: Aluminium Trihydrate) and a low percentage of high-resistance resins. This composition provides KRION® with a series of clearly exclusive features: it does not have any pores, it is anti-bacterial without the need for any type of additive, hard, tough, durable, easy to repair, requires minimum maintenance and is easy to clean.

It is worked in a similar way to wood, making it possible to cut the sheets, join them and thermoform them to created curved sections, and even to use using injection in the production system, obtaining different shapes and designs that are impossible with other materials.

We can create surfaces without joints, which prevents the absorption of liquids and makes it easy to clean and maintain. We offer a wide range of colours, including a white finish that stands out for its purity and neutrality, far superior to that of other similar materials.

It is an ecological material, as it is 100% recyclable. All products manufactured using KRION® can be reprocessed and re-used in its production cycle.

Benefits of the product

Ultra-white (1)KRION® offers an extremely pure, bright and neutral white, which stands out from all other similar solid surfaces.

JointlessThanks to the KRION® chemical welding kit, two sheets can be connected together using the same material in liquid form, meaning the joint is invisible.

Fireproof (2)KRION® cannot catch fire, even when exposed to direct flames.

Repairable (3)Thanks to the KRION® chemical welding kit, any KRION® item can be repaired and returned to its original condition.

Anti-bacterialKRION® is a hypoallergenic and anti-bacterial material, without the need for any type of additives. Other materials on the market are only able to do this by adding biocides. Over time, bacteria can become immune to these chemical biocides.

Manufactured using mouldsThe exclusive formula used for KRION® and the application of the latest advances in production processes make it possible to inject material to create complex shapes.

Recyclable (4)KRION® is an ecological material, as it is 100% recyclable. Any product made of KRION® can be reprocessed and re-used in its production cycle.

Resistant to extreme environmentsSurfaces made of KRION® are unaltered by extreme conditions, such as solar radiation, outdoor weather conditions, intense heat, steamy environments, wet areas, ice or immersion in water.

Highly resistant to chemical productsThis material’s resistance against attacks by chemical products makes it ideal for use in laboratories, professional and domestic settings.

Easy to cleanSerious stains or surface burns can be removed immediately from the material simply by following the recommended cleaning instructions, returning it to its original state.

Food gradeKRION® complies with the UNE-EN ISO 1186 standard, meaning it is suitable for alimentary use.

Thermo-curvableSpecific curve radiuses can be obtained with KRION® by applying heat and pressure for a given period of time.

ColoursKRION® is available in a total of 85 colours, making it an extremely versatile product.

TranslucentKRION® can be used to create backlit spaces, as the material is translucent. By combining different thicknesses and types of KRION® sheets, it is possible to create a variety of lighting effects.

Hotels

Its wide range of design possibilities mean it can be used in spaces ranging from hotel lobbies through to the equipment used in rooms, including furnishings, decoration or bathroom fittings.

KRION® also offers numerous possibilities in spa areas, as it is completely non-porous and anti-bacterial. Spas, swimming pools, saunas or Turkish baths are just some of the elements that can be created using this extremely versatile material.

We can also create backlit settings, as the material is translucent.

13

14

Healthcare

KRION® is a perfect material for use in healthcare centres. Due to its anti-bacterial qualities and its additive-free composition, it is equally recommended for consulting rooms, hospital rooms, outpatient areas and even operating theatres, where optimum hygiene conditions are essential.

Also, the chemical weld used to connect different sections and the possibility of thermo-curving the material make it possible to create continuous surfaces without joints or corners where micro-organisms could accumulate.

The material’s resistance against chemical attacks

make it ideal for use in laboratories, professional

or domestic installations.

15

16

Commercial Spaces

The design of commercial spaces is a key element in transmitting the image of a company and offering the best presentation for each product.

KRION® offers limitless possibilities for the decoration of commercial spaces, with an extensive palette of 86 colours and the possibility of joining sheets and curving them to obtain combinations of colours and ergonomic shapes.

We can obtain specific curvature radiuses by applying heat and pressure for a given period of time to obtain the required shape.

17

18

Restaurants

The comfort and warmth of KRION® make it an ideal material for the interior design of restaurants, especially as it is easy to clean and requires very little maintenance.

Its strength, the ability to create any type of design and its anti-bacterial properties mean it is ideal for practically any application.

KRION® is an anti-bacterial material due to its additive-free composition.

19

20

Offices

Bright, clean and comfortable spaces can be easily achieved by using KRION® in working spaces. Spaces which reflect a dynamic working environment, and encourage efficiency and creativity.

The KRION® chemical welding kit makes it possible to connect several sheets of the material in order to obtain surfaces without visible joints.

21

22

Public premises

KRION® is ideal for public spaces that are used by large numbers of people. It meets the maximum hygiene requirements for installation in public toilets as well as in other public areas.

As it is non-porous, easy to clean and can be repaired in situ, it is an ideal material for continuous use in public spaces, and is even highly resistant to vandalism.

Serious stains can be removed immediately from the material simply by followingthe recommended cleaning instructions, returning it to its original state.

23

24

Kitchens

Its extraordinary resistance to chemical products (such as concentrated acids, all types of stains and solvents), as well as its resistance to heat, make KRION® an ideal material for the most demanding kitchens.

Its anti-bacterial properties, certified as complying with the UNE-EN ISO 1186 standard, mean it is a perfect material for use in the alimentary sector, for work surfaces and any other type of element in direct contact with foodstuffs.

KRION® complies with the UNE-EN ISO 1186 standard, meaning it is suitable for alimentary use.

25

26

Bathrooms

The development of KRION® has been closely linked with the world of bathrooms. The Porcelanosa Group has been designing bathroom furnishings for years using this multi-purpose material. Baths, shower trays and cubicles, washbasins and bathroom units are all made using this material, whose anti-bacterial properties prevent the appearance of micro-organisms, at the same time as making it possible to create bold and daring designs.

By applying the latest advances in production process, the material can be injection moulded in order to obtain complex figures.

27

28

Ventilated façades

Its proven resistance to adverse weather conditions, combined with the development of advanced anchoring systems by butech, make it possible for KRION® to be used in the design of ventilated façades.

As it is not altered by sudden temperature changes, high humidity levels or dry climates, it is an ideal covering material for any type of building.

Also, the fact that it can be thermo-curved means that any option that has been designed can be created.

KRION® surfaces are unaffected by solar radiation, intense heat, environments with steam, wet areas, ice or immersion in water.

29

30

Wall coverings

Both the Stone version and the Lux version are a perfect solution for interior wall coverings. Both are available in 3.6 metre-long sheets, in the 85 colours that comprise the palette of KRION® coverings. Flat and curved walls can be covered thanks to the thermoforming technique, obtaining joint-free finishes by using a chemical welding process.

KRION® offers an extremely pure, bright and neutral white, which stands out from all other similar solid surfaces.
