On Eid we wear new nice clothes, give and receive gifts from one another, and eat out with friends and family.

Chirstmas- giving and receiving gifts to and from loved ones

Kwanzaa- includes gift giving as well and a big feast

Diwali- performing traditional activities together

Contributions Islam has made to the world

Eid is a holiday celebrated in the Islamic Religion. We have two Eids in the year. Eid al-Fitr is the celebration after fasting in the month of Ramadan. Eid al-Adha is to commemorate the sacrifice Abraham made of the ram.

Islam made many contributions to the world during the Medieval times. While Europe was in the dark ages, the Muslim empire was expanding rapidly. They made many new discoveries especially in medicine and algebra. Multiple Muslim scholars specialized in ophthalmology, the study of the eye, and they invented surgery, such as cataract surgery.
