    MOBILE SERVICE UNIT

    (MSU)

    Each MSU serves a population of 30,000 in a Tehsilof 5,000 couples (15-20 villages) by camping 10-12times in a month.

    MSU works under the supervision of WMO / FTO.

    MSU have been provided new vehicle, made ofMaster Mini Truck

    Each MSU vehicles equips with Primary HealthCare including full range of Family Planning (exceptcontraceptive surgery), especially IUD insertion

    OBJECTIVE OF MSU CAMPS

    To make Family Planning information and servicesaccessible in underserved / un-served rural communities.

    To reduce the unmet need of FP by making services

    mens role. To interact with the elected councilors and other opinion

    STRATEGY FOR HOLDING CAMPS

    The exact location of MSU and its catchments areas interms of UCs based on geographical condition of the villageof the communities.

    To avoid duplication, camps are not arranged where FWCs,BHUs and RHCs are working.

    Each MSU displays map of its area showing villages forcamps.

    Local notable person / women invites to support andparticipate in camp activities and he / she certifies each

    camp. Each MSU prepares 3 months advance tour / camping

    program and circulates to FWC / RHS-A, LHWs, TBAs &Male Mobilizers for proper motivation.

    MSU keeps proper record and sends to DPWO each month

    MSU VEHICLES

    MSU Vehicle is built on Master Foreland Mini Truckwith canopy fabricated of fiber

    Canopy equips with basic clinical equipments and air-conditioner

    Vehicle has heavy duty electric generator to operatevehicles air-conditioner and other equipments

    Each vehicle has two tents of parachute, attached withvehicle

    One tent is for waiting / registration and other forcounseling / general ailment treatment.

    IEC Material also provides in each camp. Desert Coolers are provided for tents

    Press is an integral 4th pillar of the society and itsimportance could not be ignored although theliteracy rate is below. The department has availed

    opportunity by releasing advertisements on Nationaland International events on regular basis. The

    Journalists and media practitioners are alwaysinvolved in all interpersonal activities as to aware the

    masses towards efforts taken by the government inhealth and population welfare sectors

    Printing & Production of Motivational

    MaterialOn different topics and different events the departmenthas procured and distributed thousands and thousandsof leaflets, brochures, posters, banners, etc. To visualize

    Family Planning Outlets, Indication / Signboards areprocured and installed. For providing information toeligible couples IEC material is distributed and it isavailable in all service outlets.

    Audio cassettes for newly married couples are developed, thesame to be distributed through Nikah Registrar's.

    Interpersonal Communications

    Face to face communication is most effectivechannel in delivering a message and for behavioralchange. The department has always given

    importance and conducted Seminars, Conventions,Workshops etc. at different level, on differentnational international events keeping in view theimportance the secretary of the department and

    senior officers have themselves attended theseactivities even in remote areas and heard the viewsand recommendations of local representatives,

    which helped in reformulating program

    implementation strategies.

    Community InvolvementSince Population Welfare is community participationprogram, the department in recognition of theimportance of local CBOs has involved Satisfied

    Clients, Contraceptive users, Teachers, Doctors,Homeopaths, Hakeems and Friends of Family WelfareCenters. Recently the department has arranged thegatherings at each FWC for encouraging healthy baby

    and healthy mother by giving then prizes on meeting.All community members and Lady Councilors haveplayed effective participation.
