Pop Art and Psychedelic Art Assignment Drawing off of what you learned in the reading last night, in the table below, list the characteristics of psychedelic art and pop art. What is the goal of each art form? What are some of the common themes, characteristics, subjects, etc.? Consider how they are different and/or similar.

Your task: Create a modern, 21st century pop art or psychedelic art inspired piece. Your work should clearly draw on ONE of these two types of art forms. It should be both inspired by the style you choose and draw on images/themes present in today’s world.

• You may choose to work on your own or in a group of up to 3 people.

• Your pictures should be colorful, creative, and thoughtful.

• Your piece should have a title and a 1 paragraph written explanation of the piece (What was your inspiration? Why did you select the title that you did? What does the piece mean to you?)

You may create your work entirely on the computer, in part using images from the computer, entirely of your own hand or some combination of the 2.
