 T ournament R ulebook General Tournament matches will consist of 8-ball singles with a 15 minute limit on each match. The time for each match will begin at the time of the attempted break.  Players must check in at the beginning of the Tournament with their cane card in order to be eligible to play.  If a player is not present after 5 minutes from their scheduled time the match will be called a forfeit. !acking A coin toss will determine who will have the choice to rack or break. Within the rack, the 8-ball must be centered while the two corners are occupied by the two opposite groups (one solid ball and one striped ball.  The !-ball wi ll be placed a t the head o" th e rack. All oth er balls must be placed between alternating in solid and stripes. #eginning a $atch   The game begins with the cue ball in hand placed anywhere behind the head string. The head string is the %uarter o" the billiar d table "arthest "rom the rack, or an area also commonly re"erred to as the &kitchen.' A"ter an attempted break, i" a ball o" either type is made into a pocket, that player will continue with possession and must attempt to clear the table o" that same ball type. A"ter an attempted break, i" balls o" either type (i.e. stripes or solids are made into a pocket, the table remains &open' until the net ball is made. )" the cue ball is scratched on a break, then that will result in a loss "or the player with the attempted break.
