• The precision of calorimetric measurements were imporved using ellipsometry under a temperature scan.

• This approach has great attraction for understanding both charge generation and charge transport conditions.

Results (LiU): The effect on charge generation of the charge transfer state

•The identification of an intermediate state of charge generation the s.c. charge transfer state of lower emission energy has been reported. •It was shown that the field

dependence of charge generation is different for charge transfer states and single phase excited states, and that PL quenching thus can be used as a probe for morphology.
