Polymer Concrete Performance QUAZITE® Service Pedestal Foundations are constructed of strong polymer concrete and reinforced with a heavy-weave fiberglass. In either our 4” deep flat pad design or our 24”-25” box pad design. QUAZITE® polymer concrete Service Pedestal Foundations are also resist UV rays, chemicals and water absorption. Concrete bases are susceptible to damage caused by freeze/thaw cycles. Thermoplastic fiberglass bases can become brittle and eventually crack when exposed to the weather. The durability that QUAZITE® provides means lower maintenance and life cycle cost.

Installation for Box Pads 1. The following installation procedure is the same for all sizes of foundation
bases.
2. Determine cable/conduit entry position.
3. Excavate hole for the bases. Make hole 1’-2’ longer and wider and approximately 6” deeper than the base.
4. Put eyebolts into lifting inserts on top of the base (4 bolts as shipped with the foundation base).
5. Attach lifting chain or straps to bolts.
6. Lift and position base in to hole using a backhoe. Check plan for proper orientation of box pad or foundation.
7. Place gravel in the base to a depth of approximately 6” to 8”.
8. Lift the base to proper elevation, allowing gravel to run out under the base.
9. Check the elevation of the base.
10. Make necessary elevation adjustments with the bucket and recheck the elevation.
11. Remove the bolts once the base is set to proper elevation.
12. Following these steps will eliminate movement or “heaving up” of the box pad in unstable soil conditions.
13. Bolt Cabinet/Pedestal to box pad.

Installation for Flat Pads 1. The following installation procedure is the same for all sizes
of foundation flat pads.
2. Determine cable/conduit entry position.
3. Dig recess for pad so that top surface of pad will be level with surrounding area.
4. Level dirt around cable opening.
5. Level and tamp down dirt in the area to be occupied by the foundation pad.
6. Backfill and tamp in trench area leading to cable opening.
7. Place pad in prepared, level area with opening in pad (throat) directly over cable entry position.
8. Attach equipment to the foundation pad with bolts, brackets, and/or lugs provided by equipment manufacturer.
9. Backfill and tamp earth around pad so it is level with surrounding landscape.
10. Bolt Cabinet/Pedestal to flat pad.
